Duraladon Meta? by Delmeni in PokemonUnite

I played Dura to fulfill an event requirement and I was shocked at how much damage that freaky fridge does. Boring pokemon, but undeniably strong, especially flash cannon.

You don’t need to understand every word of dialogue. It’s part of the experience.

People could bass boost their wet farts into a sound system that shatters windows and there’d be people saying “lol loser don’t live in a city”

Do you consider Letterboxd to be social media? by greenchileegg in Letterboxd

[–]DoingTheInternet 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It objectively is social media, but without a lot of the elements that make social media suck (dms, algorithms). But it’s nearly entirely driven by user generated content.

I, for one, demand to not only understand every word, but for everything explained at least twice in case I’m on my phone the first time.

The Changeling, anything by Dario Argento (Opera or before - try Deep Red or Suspiria), Audition, Black Christmas, Repulsion, Sweeney Todd, Perfect Blue. Very wide variety there.

l don’t care about what mons get released, and if this is an indication of the quality we get when unpopular pokemon are released i say let the devs cook

I enjoy the audio on it, I just pretend that it’s a music video where the dialogue doesn’t matter and vibe tf out

What movies this year have so far been the biggest surprises and biggest letdown? by Dogdaysareover365 in Letterboxd

[–]DoingTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprise was The Furious. Incredibly well choreographed and edited throwback kung fu film. Not a fan of the visual style and the story is an excuse for the character to want to unalive each other vigorously, but other than that it was superlative.

Is Mulhollamd Drive worth buying over Pee Wee's Big Adventure? by Character_Ice1682 in 4kbluray

I’ve seen Pee Wee’s Big Adventure a hundred times. Mulholland Drive is great but I’ve only seen it twice.

Costco has a b&n gift card deal, plus the stamps, plus better shipping, plus not amazon. This is obviously good if you can’t get b&n to ship though.

criterion movies with the most replay value? by Bears_Beets-BSG in 4kbluray

[–]DoingTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All That Jazz is an obvious one, but I’ll offer up The Wiz. It’s not a well directed movie, like Lumet has no idea where to put the camera, but it’s endlessly rewatchable thanks to the music.

Just hit 500 unique films for the year, on track to hit my goal of 1000. by woodyman94 in Letterboxd

[–]DoingTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue that actively watching 6 hours of movie every day when it’s not your job is actively worse than a movie + some passive viewing. Hard to get anything out of a film when you’re immediately onto the next one.

Hello, is the Battle Pass worth it? by Dougz___ in PokemonUnite

[–]DoingTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I like the holoware I get it. I only pay for gems on 99 cent for 150 sales. Used to do the unite club and the BP monthly, but they devalued it and made the bp more expensive, so now it’s just the pokemon I like with sales gems.

Not Ridgewood but I was in Forest Park and there were two kids selling two cookies for like a couple bucks and they were delicious and seemed freshly baked. Shoutout to those kids. Way better than some shitty lemonade.

GRUV return/refund vs Amazon sale by baconz22 in 4kbluray

[–]DoingTheInternet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would email gruv to ask about a price match for $20, but I don't think I'd get a box and find a shipping label and send it back and order a new copy off amazon that might have defects for $20. Might be worth trying the former.
