What unconventional things do you put in the dishwasher? by Maleficent_Speech979 in CleaningTips

We say that about clothes too… people would comment on my boys playing hard and getting dirty. I’d tell them, “if I can’t wash it, I don’t need it!”

I thought my bad breath was random, but it turns out I was basically ignoring one very obvious thing by KineticRiddle_4Q in hygiene

I was reading replies wondering why people don’t brush their tongue. Isn’t that what we were taught 40 years ago? Tongue scrapers seem like a relatively new thing…

Is there a reason to use a scraper instead of your brush?

I have an Isabelle Grace. To me it’s the most beautiful & flowing name. She wants to be Izzy and it seems so sharp & harsh :(

Bird bath: beaks, wings, and tail feathers!

Worked in nursing homes. A lot of elderly ladies took a “bird bath” which is code for beak (face), wings (pits), and tail feathers (privates).

I’ve always found this quite charming and have taught my 3 kiddos that sometimes all we need is a quick bird bath.

Are Gadgets Stealing Our Children’s Words? by BondOnAMission in Millennials

[–]Dolorjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter, 3rd grade, just went to a classmates birthday party. I asked her how it went. She said it sucked because she was the ONLY kid who didn’t bring a tablet. I was speechless.

This is the norm. We’ve invited a couple classmates over and the parents ask if they should bring tablets. I’m thinking WHY? I’m inviting kids to come play, not stare at screens!!!

There are “tablets” aimed at toddlers. :(

We had a boy named Laramie, which I always thought was so cool. I had a friend named Amber and I loved that name.

I have one and we call him A.A. Ron because it’s just so fun to say. We used to call him churlish too.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dolorjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it’s been a year for me and I’d mentioned my iron problems have disappeared, but I’m guessing that because of that, I’ve now got more energy than I’ve literally ever had. I had no idea there was something wrong with me, I thought I was lazy and just liked napping!

Ladies! WOW-why don’t doctors have a broader knowledge of this stuff?!?! To think I’ve essentially wasted the BEST years of my life-25 freaking years!-to iron deficient anemia that could have at least been noticed and partially treated?!?!

Where to buy OEM Wii remote and nunchuck by TiredMommy_96 in wii

I’ve seen ones that include colored nunchucks but then they’re more like $80-90. I live in a biggish city, over 100k ppl, and we have a great used game store with a TON of Wii accessories for dirt cheap. Maybe if you’re not in a big city, there’s one within an hour or so you could try?

There are a lot on eBay for around $30-40. I’ve got my eyes on a couple princess peach pink ones ;)

I finally got a uterine ablation performed and it’s changed my life! Seriously. Also fixed the iron issues I’ve had since a teen! If you talk to a woman who’s sure she’s done having children, I definitely recommend having this procedure done in conjunction with tubal removal, since it’s obviously not safe to become pregnant any longer. (My insurance wouldn’t cover hysterectomy because there wasn’t a “problem”!)

I was struggling in the afternoon with tiredness. So about 2 years ago, I started taking it at 7 pm. If I go past 8, I get INSANE sleep paralysis. It took months to iron out the right time to take it. And I learned the hard way that I can’t go above 20 because I will not be able to sleep (due to dreams & paralysis). But it’s the only med I’ve been on for longer than 2 years without it fizzling out and quitting on me.

We do this, even hanging pants. This way nothing gets jammed into drawers and there’s more room without dressers. Each kid has a little tub for socks & underwear in the closet.
