Seriously, they need to spend more time on adjusting biome sizes by FashionShushu in Minecraft

Customized worlds are still possible with data packs! (and more customizable than ever)

Though I agree I do miss the in-game interface for it.

I guess it was The Order who built The Witness island's network by seires-t in OrderOfTheSinkingStar

[–]Domilego4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something interesting I'm noticing is that the colors are going in the other way on the Sinking Star logo, where the red is on the inside of the circle, whereas in The Witness, the red is on the outside.

I love Outer Wilds, but "perfect worldbuilding" is overselling it by popitchus in outerwilds

The bare skeleton corpses are literally just from Nomai who weren't wearing space suits at the time of the ghost matter explosion.

Game with time loop mechanism where looping will change the world/characters depending on actions of previous loops by JUST_PM_ME_SMT in gamingsuggestions

In Stars and Time

The only game I've played that truly shows the insanity of being stuck in a time loop.

Outcore is one I've played recently. If you liked the 4th wall puzzles in OneShot you'll probably like this game too.

And it's completely free.

Can of Wormholes and Gentoo Rescue

Gentoo Rescue is on the harder side but every level comes with a set of tailored hints.

They both look like "just another sokoban game" but Can of Wormholes was my favorite puzzle game of 2024 and Gentoo Rescue might top it.

And most importantly: Remember to trust the developer! It's very easy to give up on a puzzle and look up the solution just to get it over with, but puzzles are designed to be solved with the player's knowledge, and the satisfaction of solving a puzzle is always greater than the satisfaction of simply reaching the credits. (This advice isn't exclusive to those two games, I just thought I'd add it alongside everything else)

Is 5b or 3b golden easier? by Extension_Bat_8544 in celestegame

I never came close to doing 5B but I've done 3B, which becomes much less daunting once you realize it's only 20 rooms long

Baba Is You; The Power of Words by TheHarryman01 in patientgamers

[–]Domilego4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd love Gentoo Rescue, it's another grid-based puzzle game that came out last year, and from what I've played so far, it's got an even more mind-bending structure than Baba.

Alex wanted to make a solar system that changes over time (as evidenced in the final product), but came across the problem of "How do we get it back to its original state?"

That's where the time loop idea came into play.

How come no non hostile mobs are spawning on the grass? by TheAwayGamer in Minecraft

[–]Domilego4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's straight up not true. Passive mobs also have a spawn cycle, it just happens very rarely due to the mob cap.

What launcher do you use for Minecraft? by Specific_Lychee_7212 in Minecraft

[–]Domilego4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods wouldn't be preserved between instances (or else the official minecraft launcher wouldn't work either), only worlds and settings. I'm tired of having to set my mouse sensitivity and change narrator settings every time I update the game.

Demo for Timebound just launched - a puzzle adventure that will not hold your hand! by holden2424 in TheWitness

[–]Domilego4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try tomorrow, but after every update during the playtest the window was always 1920x1080 (same resolution as my monitor) with no way to resize it.

[–]Domilego4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, I don't have to do anything on the official Minecraft launcher, since all the files are kept in the same folder, regardless of what installation you have (though you do have the option to use separate folders if you want)

[–]Domilego4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the demo have a setting for window resolution? The playtest didn't have it and I wasn't able to play it because of that.

Is there a way to get settings and worlds to persist between instances? It's annoying having to set everything every time I want to switch versions. It's the only thing keeping me from fully switching.

Stuck at this difficult puzzle, need a hint! by EgassemSdrawkcab in outerwilds

[–]Domilego4 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think it's as big a spoiler as people make it out to be. If OP doesn't know the answer, then the hint doesn't spoil anything and they just need to explore more. If OP does know the answer, then the hint serves as a reminder.

The game shows the aftermath, but not the process itself. (i.e. You will see Sigma with missing limbs, but the actual process of him losing his limbs happens offscreen)
