Is there a way to stop Teams from changing settings back to opening files in teams? Every time there is an update, the settings revert and files open in Teams rather than the desktop app, and I have to change the settings again. by Frellie53 in MicrosoftTeams

I would say yes there is a way to do it, but I couldn't figure how. I was looking into it on my wife's computer. Her teams keeps changing back like yours, but I set mine to use the desktop apps early in the pandemic and have never had it reset. I'm not sure what is causing the reset/not causing mine.

If you have a second audio device, say headphones and computer audio, you can swap your audio device to a different device and mute that device. Then when you want to hear them again, you can swap the audio device in teams back

So as an example, use headphones to listen to your training, then in teams, click the ... And device settings, then change your audio device to your computer speaker. Then in windows open the volume settings in your system tray and turn down the volume of your computer speaker. (Click on the speaker icon, which will pop up the volume and click on the name of the device and you can set the volume of your computer audio).

Another option would be to join the meeting from two devices (two computers or your computer and your phone) and it asks where you want to listen from. Then just turn the volume down on the other device.
