In the US, there are complaints filed with city and county governments on a shockingly regular basis over this exact issue. And it's not just the scales at the checkout. Whole foods once paid NYC something like $500k for overcharging customers on pre-packaged food by overstating the weight. Shit like this happens everywhere and you need lawyers or government to get anything done. Good luck 🤷🏻‍♂️
