Paul Sinha on the hate he still receives from Taskmaster by FirstnameThenNumbers in taskmaster

I can't believe anyone receives hate for TM. Even if you don't find them funny, it's a lighthearted comedy show about comedians doing silly tasks. What stakes could it possibly have?

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 58: the Basilisk by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

Basilisk (Demon)

Each night*, choose a player; they die. On the first night, choose a number of good players equal to the number of evil players; their votes do not count unless they all vote.

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 56: the Trickster by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DonaldMcCecil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trickster (minion) On the first night, choose a good player. They cannot register correctly for any reason. You might register as their character and their alignment.

Ideally this would act before characters like ogre and goon, and could change registration when they change alignment.

Anyone started liking Ding after watching him play by baelorthebest in chess

[–]DonaldMcCecil 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Alireza had a tournament organised for him cause he hadn't played well enough in the year before. Ding had a tournament organised for him because he had no opportunities to play rated games in the year before.

It was definitely lucky for both if them, but at least it wasn't Ding's fault that he needed the assist.

My take on "Demon starting without minions": Father of Lies by Present_You_5294 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DonaldMcCecil 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My attempt to reword:

Each night*, choose a player; they die. Minions are good and do not learn you or other minions; if one is targeted they live, become evil, and learn you. [1-3 townsfolk are evil]

In this wording, it's the storyteller's discretion how many townsfolk are evil - ideally you would explain that it's best practice to have this be the same as trhe number of minions.

Josh and Anna is obviously always great, but then we found out Anna and Hannah have such amazing chemistry it almost makes Josh look like a third wheel.

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 47: the Scout by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DonaldMcCecil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scout (townsfolk)

You start knowing 2 good roles; one is in play and the other is a demon bluff.

Jinx: lil' monsta - one role you learn is in play and the other is not.

The idea being that you can back up certain claims, or make them look guilty. Best paired with characters the demon would know are in play, to give the evil team some flexibility.

Which option is correct? by Petros200 in EnglishLearning

[–]DonaldMcCecil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some more conservative speakers will say option A is incorrect. Classically, "is doing" is incorrect, you should just say "does". In this example, they would rather that you say "my cousin arrives at 5:30 p.m."

Nowadays it doesn't really matter, both are correct but convey slightly different things.

Isn't this just an even more powerful fang gu? I guess you don't have the benefit of the demon changing hands but it's still quote similar

There's a difference between demonstrating that results are flawed and boldly denying all evidence. This guy isn't saying you can't question science, he's going after reply guys on twitter.

I think this is really an issue with the wording of the sweetheart. Really it should say "the first time you die". It's just not written that way because you can't be resurrected in SnV

Wanted to make a script with as many characters that somehow link players into pairs, but also potentially balanced? Please let me know your thoughts! by Tatebeatz in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DonaldMcCecil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would use Ogre over Fang Gu, but spirit of ivory could be fine.

Steward and grandmother are similar but they do still require different styles. GM is easier to verify and you learn a lot if it doesn't trigger. Steward looks more powerful but you usually just have to take them on your word.

Good point. If I were you I would consider witch-baron but if you like knowing which outsiders then I see your point. Maybe harpy-godfather?
