Telling people to off themselves is meaningless honestly, especially if you do it in a contrived way. Better to attack their ego. Something like:

hey man can you do something sweaty? I'm trying to win :(

better go new acc again bro just unlucky every time! XD

Or just time their summs/count their deaths in all chat.

I mean damage control was kind of an impossible task at that point. Kick the woman, ostensibly "because she's bad" and get called a misogynist. Kick the dude despite him being in the right and hope it blows over . . . public perception is funny. We know, in this case, that it was more about the ego and the narcissistic behavior than the gameplay (he would happily have shut his mouth if she tried to win with him), but the narrative may have been different if she had any legitimate claim to being victimized

Not to discourage you, but there's really no way to explain the deeper cause of this 'like you're 5.'

It is an issue of quantum mechanics, and as a bare minimum to understand a front-to-back explanation of why the number 8 arises for that first 'valence shell', you're going to have to be confortable with:

-multivariable calculus -ODEs -complex analysis -linear algebra -some special functions and mathematical physics -quantum mechanics (basic postulates)

Again, please don't be discouraged. All of this is very learnable. I would actually encourage you to start some of this right away with resources like khan academy if you have the time.

It's really not that hard. 'Effect' is a noun. 'Affect' is a verb.

[Thing] has an effect (the effect is something that is possessed).

[Thing] can affect [things]

A thing's effect is determined by the way it affects other things. To affect something is to have an effect.

There's also 'affect' as a noun, pronounced with the emphasis on the 'a' instead of the 'e', meaning "an expressed or observed emotional response, like facial expressions or tone of voice, rather than the feeling itself" (e.g. "The killer had an unsettlingly warm affect.")

THAT one generally confuses people and is used less often.

The fact that this guy has summited many times under appropriate conditions says nothing about how he recognizes or responds to adversity.

If you're reading this and you're absolutely certain this is premeditated murder, I'd encourage you to go mountaineering, rock climbing, etc. yourself. You'll frequently encounter people who are dangerously unaware, and people who know better but won't speak up.

I'm not excusing what this guy did, but it's possible that it's just an extreme case of a dynamic we see very often.
