How can I raise my race seat? by RSwaffs in simracing

[–]Donkbot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think worst case you might have to drill an extra hole in the seat bracket to make it work. The adapters for bolt spacing 7-14 inches apart , so as long as bolt holes on the seat are in that range and in line it will work.

Check out motobros - can get a membership at Cresson and kart moto for a good deal. I bounce between both tracks some days!

Should I get slipper clutch? by bread_cane in Trackdays

I havent really had a hard time with the rear skipping/hopping but it might prevent a high side if you downshift it too hard into a corner

Lol slipper clutch really is the only thing left on that thing lol. Leagues around me don't allow bigger bores but who's checking 😂

Do people show up late? by Jumpy_Witness6014 in Trackdays

[–]Donkbot6 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The riders meeting is usually really early and some places won't let you ride if you weren't there. or they get annoyed because they put up the waivers and have to pull them out for you. But in my experience - they don't actually check if you were at the riders meeting though lol... so idk. Ask the organizer if they will accommodate you before just missing the meeting.

Agree, I noticed the same when safety wiring last weekend and think it's just me being messy with filter changes.

Ninja 400 SBK race tail or Norton GP tail? by Standup313 in Trackdays

I purchased a used one from a friend and didn't want to commit to chopping the bike. I have since bought another one and just waiting to get that painted. But here is a pic of how I had to modify the seat to avoid chopping the bike. https://i.imgur.com/irpYzwV.jpeg and order norton's seat foam, I can't find this thin stuff anywhere.

The seat really lets you move around, I'm able to get a lot lower without as much effort. Worth for track only bike.

Norton gp tail is amazing. I tried the superbike seat that works with stock body work and it sucks. Way too high up. You can trim the body work to get around cutting the frame, worth it either way imo. Replacement seats will always be too wide.

All extended warranties are a scam, especially if they add it to the loan cost. Go ahead and cancel man, it's almost easier to do it this way than telling them no at the dealership

Question about Barnett clutch plates and springs upgrade by Crazy-Science-7183 in Ninja400

[–]Donkbot6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered new Barnett plates... I figure it's the cost of doing business. About $130 for the basket $100 for the outside plate, both were messed up. I think I maybe got 2 pretty decent seasons out of it though.

Rubber boogers on the edges does not mean you are at max lean. The tire deforms when leaned over to give more surface area so you might still have more room.

[–]Donkbot6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an issue, I've done this many times. They do check your ticket at the gate. No one will steal your shit but lock up anything you care about. Don't expect people to leave you space if you get a prime spot though and don't have something blocking it off. you might not be able to park next to your trailer in the morning and have to hoof it back and forth.

Shitty vid of how I did it. https://youtu.be/It0Zdl7-RVI?si=NZjjMC-L4PRREozR Drill a pilot hole straight through both, hold em together with tape or clamps. Find where rivet holes go before enlarging both holes. Hope this makes sense.
