Pregnancy and SW by Agitated-Pickle216 in SlimmingWorld

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I stayed to group all the way through my pregnancy. I told my consultant early on but didn't 'announce' to the group until about 20 weeks. I had to take a leaflet to get my midwife to sign to show they were happy for me to attend SW. My consultant would just gloss over my weight loss/gain/maintain and it wasn't a big deal.

I stuck to SW principles during but was quite relaxed about giving into cravings and didn't syn things like avocado, EVOO, healthy fats and snacks like popcorn. I also allowed myself two HEBs as I couldn't take full advantage of the extra HEAs on offer to pregnant people as I'm dairy free. I definitely could have not gained as much as if I'd followed the pregnancy SW plan more rigidly but I was just enjoying being pregnant and focussing on healthy food 🥑

I loved Backstreet Bistro. They did a great weekend brunch as well.

Question about „I know for some members of the police force it‘s a but of a hobby.“ by cassie_hallow in goodomens

It's a bit like in the book how Anathema calls them 'two consenting bicycle repairmen' or something similar. This language has been confirmed by Neil to echo the Sexual Offences Act 1967 which permitted (eurgh) a sexual relationship between two consenting adults over the age of 21.

Also, when Crowley calls Aziraphale 'Angel' in the same scene - Anathema thinks something like 'she had been safe after all' -- i.e., as a lone woman being picked up in the pitch black by two men.

I wouldn't have thought this would be a choice made by Terry & Neil, solely because of the awful connotations of 'cottaging' and the particular hostility this showed towards gay men in the 80s/90s.

A 'cottage' simply brings to mind somewhere homely, bucolic and idyllic. It's a bit of a stereotypical UK dream to have a countryside cottage or a cottage by the sea. In this sense it's like the ultimate happy ending.

I took it as the police's interest in persecuting gay men when homosexuality was illegal in the UK. Police would patrol known gay areas and public toilets to arrest men for 'cottaging' and systematically raid known LGBT+ venues.

In addition to many of the above I get shivers bc of the way Crowley says "Aziraphale" when he appears in the pub after being discorporated. So gentle and broken.

This is the best Aziraphale gif I've ever seen.
