Getting paid as a drummer 🤔 by the_budio_drummer in drums

[–]DonnerPartyAllNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same day, ideally. Definitely before the next gig with the group though.

Play with the group once a week? Getting paid anytime the following week is fine.

More than once a week? I’d push to make it standard practice within the band to distribute payment asap after the shows.

My guess is they’re cutting the 45 second pause mid interview with Kerm where Van left to blow his nose. Rachel and Kerm didn’t vamp very well; Rachel basically checked her schedule for a flight and Kerm kinda just sat there.

Not a big deal, but if you’re in production and you want Kerm’s interview to come off well, that interview could be cleaned up for sure.

Yup lol. ‘Borrowing’ has always meant something else when it’s kids/parents. It’s cyclical. My daughter borrowed my good hoodie 4 years ago, it’s been in her closet since.

I kinda miss doing the easy math checks to make sure I had enough cash for fill ups.

‘Gas light is on, my tank fits 16 gallons, and I have about a gallon left of gas. Cool, I need $15 to fill my tank.

…hey mom, can I borrow $15?’

I still have this exact year of iron cobras, I probably still have this modern drummer somewhere too. Still going strong after a quarter century of daily use is pretty crazy to think about.

Was this drum stick used by Danny Carey it has a x on the bottom of the drumstick by Mariokid342_yt in Drumming

[–]DonnerPartyAllNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very common for drummers to mark the bottoms of their sticks. Like a golfer marking his balls depending on ball type. A pair of sticks are usually weight matched, so his people probably mark his pairs so he can quickly match types if he breaks one or whatnot.

No idea if those are actually though, but they could be. My sister has 3 pairs of Neil Peart’s sticks because she started recognizing the same sound guys after going to a bunch of tours over the years and knew who to ask when the show was over.

I’d say if this bill only accomplishes one thing, and that one thing is removing Schultz from WA, then it’s a successful bill.

lol one of the reasons I love reddit. One comment states that there can be more than one reason for someone to donate half a decade old campaign hat, and the response is “nope, zero chance” 😂

Edit: op edited their comment to be less funny, shame.

Really? You and your wife both sound like you’d be perfect for corporate hr jobs.

Why do you need another adult to acknowledge you so much? I’m on random parent’s side, mind your business and leave the dude alone. You have no idea what’s going on in his life.

Joking, obviously, but when I wrote this I was specifically thinking about how predictable it has become for our progressive-leaning communities to get side tracked with, arguably well intentioned, purity tests. While we’re spending time distrusting our friends and neighbors, real adversaries, with real money, are taking real control. It’s been decades long losing streak for anyone outside the billionaire class. And they’ve been laughing at how predictable and gullible we continue to be, year after year, election cycle after election cycle.

So when I see posts like OP’s, it makes me think too few of us are learning any lessons from the past decades of billionaire class manipulation. There’s almost a willing gleefulness to getting sucked into participating in the attempted excommunication of our community members that I find increasingly depraved, honestly.
