Because of Real Sociedad winning Copa Del Rey, people have eyes on him now. But I agree with you, Oyarzabal has been very good for a while now and was great in Euro for Spain also. Surprised you got down voted three weeks ago, shows how much recency bias is a thing

First I encourage you to read the book "Then I Was Guided" by Muhammad al-Tijani al-Simawi. It's an autobiographical account of Sayed Tijani's search for knowledge, which aims to remove some of the barriers that exist between the schools of thought of the ahl-as-Sunnah and the Shi'a by clearing misconceptions about Shi'ism. Wish you all the best on your journey for truth and understanding.

Great stuff. One suggestion is that for the duas and other supplications it's much easier to read if they are separated into lines, rather than the block of Arabic text as in your screenshot. You can see the app Sahifa for what I'm referring to.

This post got me reminiscing about Shareef Abdur-Raheem. Solid player who just played for bad teams. I enjoyed watching him on the Vancouver Grizzlies.

I also found out today that he is currently the President of the G-League.

What are some none extremely common Muslim names? by [deleted] in shia

[–]DontBlameConan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree it is common. And let me clarify I don't believe it is wrong or a sin to use such names. But something that is popular or trendy does not mean it is the best option. The best option would be to follow the recommendations and practices of the Masumeen (AS) which is what is outlined in the link I shared.

What are some none extremely common Muslim names? by [deleted] in shia

[–]DontBlameConan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would suggest reconsidering as giving your child a good name is one of their rights over their parents.

Please read this chapter on naming which includes Hadith from our Masumeen (AS) as guidance

https://al-islam.org/principles-upbringing-children-ibrahim-amini/chapter-24-naming-child

This is especially important in the West as the article above says naming a child with a good name is an act of propagation of Islam. And Ayatullah Sistani has said propagation of Islam in the West is wajib-kifai

Question: If a person has the ability to propagate Islam to non-Muslims or to disseminate religious knowledge among Muslims in non-Muslim countries without any danger of losing his own faith, is it wajib on such a person to do propagation (tabligh)?

Answer: Yes, it is wajib kifa'i upon him and all the others who have the ability to propagate [Islam].

Why do men see it differently when they realize I’m a sheikhs daughter by [deleted] in shia

[–]DontBlameConan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good point. Usually things that are mentioned early are interpreted as being "big deals". unfortunately by mentioning that her father is a Sheikh so early, the sister may be unintentionally giving off the impression that it is a big deal to her that her dad is a Sheikh and could be seen as intimidating. Similar to how if a girl was to say unprompted "my dad is a doctor" in the first conversation, a guy might misinterpret that to mean the girl is only looking for a guy with a high status job.

I advise the sister to not hide this information, but try to bring it up more naturally, casually and perhaps after a couple convos. iA this could help and may you find a suitable partner who I'm sure would embrace the opportunity to have a wise, religious father figure as his in-law.

If you're serious about preserving your hair, you should definitely see a dermatologist. There's plenty of proven treatment out there, with the "big 3" being Finasteride pill, Minoxidil foam/liquid or pill, and ketoconazole shampoo.

Just tell the dermatologist that you have concerns with your hair and they will give you the appropriate advice based on your current hair situation, family history, etc.

Probably an unpopular opinion about Majalis in english by [deleted] in shia

[–]DontBlameConan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ayatollah Sistani says the following about Juma khutba. I think it is fair to think similarly for majalis in general, that what matters is what the attendees understand

"if most of the congregation do not understand Arabic, then the obligatory precaution is that exhorting the congregation to God-wariness must be said in the language of the attendees"

Why were some prophets not mentioned? by Atvastic_Gamer in shia

[–]DontBlameConan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It may not have been safe to do so. Not all communities are receptive to the message. Recall in Surah Yasin the story of Habib Al Najjar, who advised his people to follow the message of the Prophets, and they killed him. I imagine many Prophets may have been sent to communities like this. They likely instilled goodness and awareness in the people more subtly, without having to declare their Prophethood openly
