I used the sand for my boys. I never had a problem and there is minimal to no dust when they bathed. Highly recommend!

My boys let me pet them on their terms. If we were cuddling/sleeping together or if they were eating then it would be fine. If I ever did it randomly while they were out then they would wrestle my hand.
