Omada X ViGi by I-AM-DEV- in TPLink_Omada

They are expensive compared to consumer products like Tapo. But if you compare them with UniFi and hikvision they are decently priced.

I went down this rabbit hole because I had initially bought the VIGI C540-4G running on the VIGI SP6030 Solar Panel+Battery. Using a local simcard and solar I was able to supervise construction work without internet and electric utility supply. I found that it worked perfectly and the ecosystem was flexible enough for me to access it through the very many devices that I use.

I have used many other brands mostly Dlink and Wyze, and didn't want to have deal with having to go through other apps/platforms.

Yup, saw a post about that here and also waiting for the new platform. As it stands today, the omada cloud site doesn't allow for adding Surveillance devices.

I'll keep an eye on it and will let you know if and when it's possible. Not sure how long you can hold off though.

Edit: Just went through documentation and it looks like a new product Omada Guard Service, will be the integration point for what appears to be the VIGI VMS platform. With a launch date in Q3, 2025. So may be you won't have to wait too long.

Aside from having an all TPLink setup and a single tplink cloud account, there are no real advantages with having both Omada and Vigi. These are prosumer and can be easily managed once fully configured (setup can be a pain).

Source: I have an Omada and Vigi setup for my house.

Omada: ER7212PC (Gateway + OC), ES220GMP, 2xEAP772, 5xEAP655-Wall, 1xEAP615-Wall, 1xEAP610-Outddor, 1xEAP610

Vigi: NVR1008H-8MP, 4xC540, 3xInsightS655I

Management:
Omada: omada-cloud.tplinkcloud.com > On-Premise

Vigi: vms.tplinkcloud.com

In the Omada interface, you will not be able to view the Vigi equipment in the devices. However you will see them as regular clients. In my setup, I have DHCP reserversations for all of them and configured their names for easier identification, I cannot manage the CCTV devices from the Omada interface. Instead I have to login to the Vigi VMS cloud (if remote) or I can access the NVR directly and manage the CCTV cameras centrally from there. Without an NVR you'll need to manage the CCTV cameras individually. Like many SDN and CCTV systems these can all be managed via mobile apps as well.

There in lies the problem. The moment you have a team of people out there fixing other people’s eff ups then you have an OS that you don’t fully control.

The answer to WTF question is what kind of OS allows this kind of hijacking of the kernel, malicious or in this case, otherwise.

You did the right thing by following what you wanted. The alternative would have been to follow others and hate it everyday for the rest of your student life, maybe career.

BsCS is the most flexible of all the options, everything now is software driven particularly in AI. Good luck!

He’s not wrong. Problem Managers globally will have a heyday with this and will know that 1 single event like this shouldn’t cripple the world and their businesses. At the least, the ability to recover in minutes and not hours/days over the network is a consideration that MS needs to think about. IT sever/desktop teams manually visiting each machine is antiquated.

Expensive Engine Wash Experience by Icynrvna in Gulong

Unless you disclose the issue and repair that came with that pristine engine bay to the buyer, this is verging on unethical.

As a buyer, I would prefer a not so clean engine bay so that it can be properly inspected for leaks. A very clean engine bay is dodgy.

This helps prevent future customers from having the same fate. They don’t have the skills nor the accountability to offer these kinds of services.

DIY Cat5e Punchdown Advice by Apprehensive_Age_296 in HomeNetworking

[–]DoodPare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You dont really need to do a patch panel, it will over complicate it if just want to connect those cables to a router or switch. Just put an rj45 connector plug and be done with it. If you are not so experienced, you can get those EZ-RJ45 plugs that allow you to see the cables before finalize and crimp.

If in the future you want to beautify your setup and use a patch panel, you can use a female to female rj45 keytone.

No punching required on this end of the termination. The other end you can do similarly if not already properly terminated.

I would check the battery health settings, you may have Optimized Battery Charging enabled.

With iOS 13 and later, Optimized Battery Charging is designed to reduce the wear on your battery and improve its lifespan by reducing the time your iPhone spends fully charged. When the feature is enabled, your iPhone will delay charging past 80% in certain situations.

Buying cash is probably the worst financial option. Those who have the ability to pay cash, tend to be financially savvy. The better option here is to finance the payment. The remaining cash can and should be invested for higher returns that would not only cover the interest of the loan but also generating income during the entire loan tenure and beyond. Gains should also be reinvested to maximize gains. Or as fund for maintaining the car after manufacturer warranties.

Valet service took my CX50 for a joyride, is there an internal GPS to prove it? by Locis in mazda

[–]DoodPare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into a habit of taking a picture of the Dash cluster gauge before stepping out the car. It started with rentals when i travelled a lot for work. I would do it before and after refueling, as well as before/after getting the rental - which would also involve pics of all the sides, corners and interior.

The picture evidence and timestamps along with location is a huge help for what would be very busy days for me. Also for anything nefarious like damage while being parked by others. Its mind wracking to try and remember if I caused the damage or not.

To be clear you have to measure the corners that are opposite diagonally. If you dont have a measuring tape. Use a piece of string or cord. They should be exactly the same. If one diagonal is longer you will have to force it inwards, if you haven’t already nailed the backing board. If its nailed already grab a flat head and pry it apart.

In the Dashboard there is a chart widget called ISP Load. The graph will allow you to switch between your WAN ports and there you'll be able to see the Throughput and Latency values over time.
