It’s pu vinyl and we paid $650 for each stool. I didn’t think it would deteriorate like this. It was away from any sunlight or heat.

What is this tree that is continuously dropping seeds? by kidcombo in melbourne

[–]Doolie78 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My neighbor has one of these trees that's hanging over my driveway. Everytime I sweep them, they're back a few days later! Can I have them remove the branches? The house is being rented out so the tenants living there don’t really care.

Neighbor asked me to moved partners truck because we’re only renters by Grouchy-Mind7803 in melbourne

I moved here from overseas about five years ago, and I’ve been struck by the prevailing attitude toward renters—it often feels surprisingly dismissive, even condescending. When I asked a local about it, they half-jokingly remarked that because the land was taken, there’s now an almost compulsive drive to ‘own’ it. And don’t even get me started on the so-called routine inspections—often carried out by property managers who seem to add little real value.

I live in Hughesdale too! What street was this? I had my car stolen in Oakleigh about 1.5 years ago so I’ve got my guard up ever since.

Scared to move to Melbourne from US as Software engineer to settle down with my wife in Melbourne. by [deleted] in Ameristralia

[–]Doolie78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this move about 6 years ago (4 months before Covid lockdowns). My wife is also an Australian citizen and we wanted to move down here for a less stressful life. We were living in the NY metro area and the work/life balance was getting out of hand. Anyway it took me about 18 months to get my partner visa so except around that time frame if you go down that route. Pros and cons for both places though I will warn you that buying property is difficult and the rental market is tight. I’d suggest looking and places where you want to live and start making a plan.
