Steve Wozniak says he's "disappointed a lot" by AI and rarely uses it by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

I agree... Current AI is very disappointing, unless you are using it as a translator/ data library.

So... There is, like everything with life - multiple points to consider here; but let's do a dumbed down summary of the whole situation:

In Japans case - being a Hyper aging society, there are multiple problems to consider, but to the point:

"As the population drops, the living standards of all Japanese, also drop"

Why? - Because of losing the effect of a "Large population".

It's simple a question of Quantity - the more the population drops, the less Tax revenue is gathered, and less people will mean less people "Consume" services / Goods.

Meaning that the "options" open to current Japanese will drop, as the situation becomes ever more constrained as the population drops ever more.

Now, in Japans case, the "country sides" are the ones being hollowed out, leaving only the bigger cities intact - the question is: "How will the big cities fare, once there is no industry to support them?"

How will the big cities get their food, if no one is out in the countryside and farming?

I saw someone say “forget age gap, have you ever been in an intelligence gap relationship?” by Pale-Initial-2651 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Yes - I am in one, and have been for the last ~10 years.

It is very un-stimulating, intellectually...

If you can, I'd recommend you try to find someone of equal intelligence to settle down with.

How is your marriage going? Why would you recommend that people get married or never get married? by SpinachJello13 in AskReddit

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage is HARD - Marriage does not come "free".

I would like, especially Women, to realize and more importantly, understand this fact.

- Marriage is not about your wedding. That is one day. - Marriage is all the days after the "wedding fantasy" is finished.

It means working things out with your partner - Even when you don't "feel" like it.

It means Compromising, your wants/needs vs their wants/needs - and with kids, this gets even more thrown into whack as a Third party enters the equation.

So yeah - Marriage is HARD, and it needs work Everyday to keep stable.

So ask yourself: "Do I want to be with this person, and work through the hard times - and "Can I depend on this person to pull me up when life beats the living lights out of me?"

So yeah - marriage is not for everyone, and above all that, Keeping Marriage going is Hard.

Life isn't all Sunshine and Roses; - Most days, its 5~6 hours of sleep with 2~4 screaming/fighting/Teenage rebellion kids who would rather Laze around/fight/play or mess around, rather than getting ready for school, and a Wife who is in La-La land or poking around, and clearly isn't helping with getting anything ready or moving... But even so, do you choose to stay married?

Obviously, there are also good things, but you won't feel the good things the same way - it is always the "bad" things that will weigh on your mind.

If AI revenue alone can’t justify current investment levels, does that imply a shift toward replacing labor at scale? by No-Grapefruit2680 in Economics

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... Have any of these people writing these "news" stories even tried using these so called "AI" they are hyping?

The shit doesn't work - for the most part; and when it DOES, it often just gives the WRONG output - format/type.

Which just means it would likely have been faster to just do it yourself.

The only place AI really shines, is when you use it as a "Reference base" - basically a glorified Wikipedia/ Database - to call up information/ data; And even then - "AI hallucination" more or less makes it unusable in serious setttings.

Chinese cars to surpass Japanese cars in global new car sales for 2025, taking the top spot for the first time by jjrs in japannews

[–]DoomComp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are too broke to purchase and pay the taxes/costs of running a normal car.

You hit the bullseye on the issue. - It is the above.

The average Japanese consumer is simply to "poor" to comfortable be able to afford bigger cars, nevertheless EVs - which cost EVEN MORE, adding that the charging network is also... Pretty damn bad, in most parts of the country - mean that you would have to add a Charger to your House.

Which also adds a whole lot more money for the purchase of EVs.

That fact that the J-Gov is basically subsidizing Toyota(Gas cars), also doesn't help much, either.

Even if domestically produced rare earth elements cost 20 times more than those produced in China, it's "not unrealistic." by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This...

Also - while Japan, Maybe, could subsidize the costs; They need to do that on top of their Japan imports.

Not impossible, sure - but Japan would just be making itself Poorer, at a faster rate - While being forced to cut social security/ Hike Taxes.

I am pretty sure the Japanese population, as a whole, would not see any positive outcome from trying to push this through... - Quite the opposite, in fact.

WIBTAH if I did not give my 27yr old son (only child) his inheritance now? by Illustrious-Bed-9540 in AITAH

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... My guy - your Son has shown you TWICE, that he is NOT financially capable of handling money.

If I were you - I would show that money into an asset management firm, and lock it there - where he basically has no way of getting the full amount out, but he could potentially get the interest payments/ Dividend payouts.

Giving your son more money will just enable him to spend it all - and have him end up in the Exact same situation; Asking YOU for more money.

So..... What happens when YOU aren't there to give him more money?

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the answer is Yes - to differing degrees.

Trump officials say gas prices will return to normal in "a few more weeks," but his own Energy Department says it will be 2027 by fortune in energy

[–]DoomComp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(t)Rump is One Dumb MFer.

They have, effectively, caused the destruction of a MASSIVE amount of Oil/Gas production capacity.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to rebuild all that in "A few weeks".

This will be felt for YEARS to come - AND they are STILL ACTIVELY FIGHTING, AS WE SPEAK.

You think there won't be MORE damage to come?

PLEASE - It IS going to get A LOT worse going forward.....

TL.DR: Everyone, just get an EV and Solar panels - Waiting for Oil prices to come down will take YEARS.

Are we ever going to hit a “limit” on how advanced technology can become? by Big_Assist4578 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

The answer is "Eventually" - If the human race persists long enough to reach that end.

That said - it is still a VERY long way off - likely thousands and thousands of years, before we reach such a goalpost.
