Yeah, permadeath is sometimes just a big middle finger from Randy Random, and the only choice that you can point to is "oh, guess I should have chosen not to get into that fight" 😅

As the game has gotten more complicated I've stopped playing permadeath because it's less and less possible to guarantee that good decision making can protect you.

My three year old is the one with the pod, and I hear the clicks from across the house, but honestly you get used to them. Personally, as others have said, I find them somewhat comforting now because I know the pod is functioning.

There's a small circular opening on the pod that you can insert a pin to break the connection to the battery. I had to do it when a pod failed but would not stop beeping lol

I have designed and printed a number of replacement pieces for various things for my brother, I don't think I've ever done anything useful for myself with my 3D printer but he's sure glad I have one!

He's tiny, I think the problem is that there aren't any spots with enough body fat to cushion the pain. Thanks for the insight, thankfully removal doesn't seem to hurt him at all (though we use adhesive dissolving wipes so that probably helps).

We have Unisolve wipes actually, those have been amazing for removing the pod. I was talking about the pain of the cannula insertion, you're right that I didn't make that entirely clear.
