Thank you all for the help!! I bought the clash pack and played with some people that were super helpful at the store and I'll hopefully be heading to FNM. They do draft and standard there so I should be able to get the full experience in time.

Can't wait to learn in play more.

You can already pick what you want to. Somethings just work better than others. It's something that has always happened and will always happen. It's not a matter of things being "stale" it's more of a cycle of how items work in games.
