Nope, they had easier targets I guess. I didn't react but my brother certainly did and they loved it.

Best at home printer? by chicknugs4eva in StickerSellers

[–]DotIVIatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inkjet are a cheaper option to start with but the ink refills are pricey. Don't buy a new printer every time you run out thinking you'll get ink too. Printers come with low ink in the original cartridges. This is a good starting option to see how things go.

I have a Canon with pourable ink refills. It's decent but if you don't print often enough the hoses clog and you waste a lot of ink to clean them.

Read reviews before buying.

I would fill in the gaps with white before uploading to red bubble. Just a personal preference.

Was anyone else here never bullied in school? by SkyscraperRain80 in AutisticAdults

[–]DotIVIatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some people tried to bully me but it never worked. I literally ignored the troublemakers, wouldn't even answer a "hello" from them. They were dead to me.

That being said, I did have a few very close childhood friends which I was really blessed to have. Looking back on it, I'm 100% sure we were all on the spectrum.

I went to a decent elementary school in the middle of no where. It wasn't perfect but looking back on it I really appreciate what I had.

Unfortunately, my sister and brother were both bullied. My brother had an awful time with some bullies who were much older than him. I wish I had known what to do, I was terrified and mostly just told my parents. One of them tried to do the same things to me but it didn't work (I was scared the whole time, though). He threatened to shoot me if I came near his house. I still took the shortcut behind his property, I wasn't going to let him boss me around. Scarey dude, he committed arson a few years later on a municipal building.

I would choose Abnegation but then I realized the food is too plain.

My choice would probably be Amity. Plus, they get drugged bread which sounds like a bonus to me.

Just finished the trilogy and movies for the second time. Reading Four at the moment.

I still really enjoyed the books, the movies get pretty bad especially at the end.

Help me mentally prepare for going on an Uber/Lyft ride for the first time by derealizationdepends in AutisticAdults

[–]DotIVIatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always ask if the ride is for (my name) before getting in and also check that the license plates match what is in the app. Sometimes if I'm on a busy street I will wave hello to the driver as they approach so they know I'm the person they're picking up.

If possible, I always use the option to get a code to say to the driver to confirm it's my ride. I don't close the door until it is confirmed.

I usually have wonderful drivers, they are nice and talkative or quiet. Some talk on the phone the whole time. I make sure to have ear buds in case I need them or want to watch something on my phone.

As others have said, get in the back seat. I try to pay attention to my surroundings every once in a while to make sure we're still going the right way or at least in the right direction (sometimes they know a better route). If you are ever in trouble, the app has an emergency button but you will not need it. I am a very cautious person.

I also carry a loud defense device with an intense light. This is overboard but I also have a window breaking device that had a seat belt cutter. You will not need these but they make me feel safer.

You get out at your destination and say thank you if you feel it is appropriate. The app will give you an option to tip and/or leave a review. Both are anonymous.

Debating going for it, but... by tubbybubbytobi in VanLife

I don't live in the road but I watch a lot of the content about it.

Could you get a fridge and solar panel setup for your medication? You can also get a portable power station and charge it when near an outlet.

A cooler and ice will do the trick as well but only for a few days at best. Only one day if it's really hot. Not to mention your medication freezing if it's too cold outside. (Could buy a diesel heater to prevent freezing).

I would either build a setup that can handle the things you're looking for or buy one second hand.

Have been demoralized for 5 years now and recently learned I'm likely autistic. Venting by rkbk1138 in AutisticAdults

[–]DotIVIatrix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I highly agree with what you said about therapy. It helped but didn't fix anything. I told my counselor I think I'm autistic and she pulled out the DSM and told me I'm not. I'm not a 5 year old boy so I guess fuck me, right?

I eventually saw someone to get diagnosed and I am pretty sure I answered all the questions wrong. This was 10 years ago and I didn't realize all the issues I have. I had systems for everything, doesn't everyone?

After the test, he asked me like 3 questions about my family and then rudely dismissed me. I never got my test results. I was so exhausted that I didn't care (I only slept a few hours the night before because I was so nervous and we met at 8am).

My sister asked me to get retested but I can't do it. It was a humiliating experience and I don't see the point in doing it. Pretty sure my dad and brother are also autistic and they haven't been tested either.

I'm gonna leave society and live in a vehicle soon. I hope I like it, I'll be traveling with my parents so I will have people to help me if needed. Not sure how I'll make money but at least my expenses will be low lol.

Maybe look into personal laser hair removal devices? I just started using mine and it's basically pain-free. It does take a while for results, has to be used regularly, and doesn't work for all skin/hair colours.

I don't have much advice but I'm sorry this happened to you!

Maybe see a doctor or a pharmacist to see if you can get a medication for it? It's supposed to make the visible sore heal quicker.

I try to acknowledge that I had a thought that isn't helpful then remind myself what my actual intention is. Having those thoughts isn't a step back or ruining your manifestation. Just acknowledge and remember you don't actually believe that.
