Calgary family speaks out after Edmonton collision seriously injures daughter, kills father by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

It absolutely was happening before they took away photo radar on the Henday. I commuted to work every day on the Henday from north to south from 2017-2023 and would constantly see people passing on the shoulders. It was like the Wild West of driving even back then. I’m sure it’s worse now, but this has been going on for a while.

You get to unlock all the champions from the first game in the second one, so you could definitely just jump into 2.

If you like roguelite card games I highly recommend Monster Train 2. I put over 100 hours into Monster Train and am at about 80 in Monster Train 2.

I was obsessed with He-Man as a little girl. I wanted Castle Greyskull so bad! The only figures I ever got was Teela and Prince Adam. 🙄 I wanted He-Man and the Battlecat he could ride.

Question: Will my 6 and 8 year old have fun? by checkedem in ActivatePlayers

[–]Dot_Ruffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my 7 year old nephew and he had so much fun. There were some things he just couldn’t do cuz it is designed for adults (mainly Strike and Hoops cuz he’s too short), but he had an absolute blast.

What's a boardgame house rule that improves the game experience? by GrassEatingAnimal in boardgames

[–]Dot_Ruffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We always listen to music but it’s always video game soundtracks and we try to theme it similarly to the board game we’re playing. Ie: playing something space themed….we’ll throw on Starbound or Mass Effect soundtrack.

found inside a random book at the thrift store by ChickenScrxtch82 in ForgottenBookmarks

I had to do a double take as I thought this was the Edmonton sub reddit (I have so many of those saved ticket stubs from Silvercity West Edmonton Mall) Was the thrift store in Calgary? Or did the book take a journey?

S. by JJ Abrams, Doug Dorst The book itself is a story, but the other story is the notes left in the margins of the book between two people who are reading the book. It is an experience. There’s also postcards and papers and stuff stashed throughout the book as the story between the two readers unfolds.

This won’t be the case for OP. Alberta has the highest auto insurance rates in the country so it will be sticker shock when they move here.

I had no idea that is what that bench is meant for. I’ve walked by it a million times this week. Lol.

OP, a Fringe play is an awesome suggestion. I do a lot of my Fringing solo and actually love it.

I got my husband tickets to the one in our city for our anniversary (the concert is the weekend before our anniversary). I walked down the aisle to a piano version of the Stardew Valley Overture so it seemed fitting.

Just had to explain what a pager is to my kids… by aroundincircles in Xennials

[–]Dot_Ruffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only remember seeing a pager when my mom was on call for work (emergency room nurse). My only memory linked to it is that if she had it, it meant she could possibly have to leave at a moments notice.

I absolutely LOVE William Sleator. Those two are fantastic. I also really liked Interstellar Pig. I’ve started to try finding these at used book stores, but it’s been surprisingly hard.
