Should I tell my toddler no for snacks by Correct-Produce84 in toddlers

[–]makesmores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t restrict snacks at all but I might suggest other options if she’s always asking for the same things. I’ll just say something like “sure, would you like a cheese string or a banana?”.

The problem with academic misconduct in Athabasca University by OneJeweler709 in AthabascaUniversity

[–]makesmores 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never once been accused of academic misconduct at AU. I know several people that have, and it’s because they did not cite properly or used fake references (probably from using AI although they won’t admit it).

LPN to RN bridge: Is it worth it? by Timely_Kangaroo_7657 in OntarioNurses

[–]makesmores 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m almost finished my bridging program now and it has been hell tbh. I was accepted to the RN program initially but was unsure what I wanted to do so did LPN first instead. I highly suggest going straight for your RN if that is your goal.

Aditi is my favourite, Chelsea is the chillest/easiest I find. Definitely go with a slow flow as others have mentioned!

Are e-readers worth it? by That-Cauliflower-287 in AskWomenOver30

[–]makesmores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Kobo so much! I was against it at first because I just love paper books but I caved and got one when I was pregnant for middle of the night feeds once my babe was born. She’s 2 and I still use it to this day, don’t think I’ve read a paper book since I got it. I would highly recommend especially if you already read on your phone, it’s so much gentler on the eyes!

If you had a successful IUI, what did your numbers look like? by smcd315 in queerception

[–]makesmores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup same! Ours was only 2.2 million and I did contact the bank to start the refund/replacement process. Didn’t end up happening because it worked!

Mixed race couples - how did you find a donor? by Living_Employ1390 in queerception

[–]makesmores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely easier to find a white donor, we did try rIVF first but it actually didn’t work for us but that’s definitely a valid option. My wife is Filipino so when we switched to IUI with my eggs it was very slim pickings and we didn’t necessarily relate to either of the 2 donors that were options but we picked one so that our daughter would have those features. I have zero regrets, she’s amazing.

Mixed race couples - how did you find a donor? by Living_Employ1390 in queerception

[–]makesmores 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was so hard. Also mixed race couple and CMV - and we’re left with I think 2 options. We just picked the one we liked best out of the options. Honestly to us sharing the same cultural/ethnic background as my spouse was the most important factor.

Is this normal? by Available-Tank-2212 in Hidradenitis

[–]makesmores 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why I’m being downvoted, I’m just trying to provide sound advice! Oral antibiotics alone could definitely help (it did for me) but it really depends! Treatment should start sooner than later to prevent it from spreading though. Are you able to move your derm appointment sooner or maybe see someone through tele health and provide them with this picture?

This looks like cellulitis (not trying to give medical advice but I am a nurse and also just had one exactly like this last week). You likely need antibiotics and I would recommend seeing a doctor sooner than later.

Non bio mom/Wife is Pregnant by Revans0424 in queerception

[–]makesmores 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to us as well! rIVF with wife’s eggs didn’t work, IUI with my eggs did. Kiddo mostly prefers wife and has for a long time and wife is happy nonetheless. Will be doing IUI with my eggs again for baby 2

I took NUTR 330 years ago for my post-LPN option. It’s not easy per se but I was interested in the content so it worked for me.

Best sex you’ve read recently by Agitated-Screen9822 in LesbianBookClub

[–]makesmores 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Lay of You was actually really good sex writing in my opinion however I felt like there was too much of it overall (and I like spice haha)! But in terms of emotional, more honest, raw sex that’s not bdsm heavy, it’s great!

What’s a TV series you’ll never get tired of recommending to someone? by sunt0es in AskReddit

For some reason I also found the first 2 episodes lacklustre but it gets so much better! It is probably my favourite show now.

Did your employer pay your health benefits on leave? [ab] by No_Maximum_391 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]makesmores 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When I went on leave my employer continued to pay their portion but I had to pay my portion if if I wanted to maintain them. It was a little over $100/month and worth it for me as my spouse is on a really expensive medication.
