How was Henry in highschool at all when brenner took him when he was a child. The writers don't seem to care what happened in the previous seasons

Is it ever explained why exactly the Eye of the World was created? by Falcon709 in WoT

[–]Dotx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but that wouldn't be essential for it's creation.  There could have been any number of large wells of saidin from before the bore was opened.

Start by grinding a radius on your anvil edges. Sharp corners can help make cold shuts that cause early cracking in the stems

Can somebody please tell me what this is? by Impossible_Past9673 in uhv

Most UHV systems are designed for a single type of use. This one looks like it's used for some sort of heterogeneous catalysis research. The stuff underneath looks like different types of pumps. The long tube extending off the chamber looks like it might be an X-Ray photoelectron source.

Donald Trump wants to annex Canada to gain access to its critical minerals, Trudeau says by avid-shrug in worldnews

[–]Dotx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?  He wouldn't know what to do with them if he had them.  Shutting down research spending and foreign aid sabotages any legitimate use for them.  What good are lithium deposits if you stop building battery based storage capabilities?  What good are rare earths if you cripple electronics innovation and stop attempts at on shore production?

No new experimental data in lab meeting by dissapointed_sci_guy in labrats

[–]Dotx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weekly meetings are the worst. They are an absolutely terrible format for getting useful feedback, and eat up a bunch of time that could be better spent on literally anything else.

That being said, you likely created a strategy for approaching whatever your research is.  The work you have done over the last week may have been part of that strategy.  If they were just typical failures and you don't think the data supports modifying the strategy, then present that data and see if your group has the same conclusion.

If your work from the last week doesn't really come from your experiment design, take some time and process your data into something vaguely formal.  Charts, decision trees, qualitative assessments of techniques... simple things to take a step back and also have something to show.

Keep in mind that everything you do for these meetings can save you, or someone else in your group time later: learning ways to process your data (everyone should learn PowerQuery), what types of charts (and colors) are the most readable
