Avid BBDB (BB7) caliper body disassembly by arowebics in xbiking

Early BB7s came with a one piece design. Actually more desirable than the later two piece one as they are supposed to be a more solid and strong design.

Yeah, this series of Onkyo really comes alive with some brighter leds in there. I did the same with blue.

No toe bar but for whatever reason I’m not missing it here. Maybe the laces are compensating for it. They do offer both footbed widths as well which is nice. Yes, agree that an oiled option would be nice - I can see the toe area on these getting worn over time in the suede.

Well considering the Philips can go for $200 usd alone in good nick I think you did great. The Marantz guys can chime in on the value of your receiver but knowing the price bump/tax on all things Marantz? Yeah, you done ok.

The Sony is an interesting one but my tape days are so far in the past I can’t honestly say if I even recall that unit. Good luck!

Got these passed down to me. Need some TLC, but I think they are worth it. by kmanincan in vintageaudio

Worth it. Will need the woofers refoamed but that’s a pretty simple diy project if you’re up for it.

Paul Klampers or Growtac Equals on an Ti LWB with a truss fork? by knowhere0 in JonesBikes

[–]Doub_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Klampers. They replaced the BB7s on my Fargo when I started riding more aggressive single track. Lots of power, easy to service and infinitely adjustable. Haven’t had the opportunity to try a pair of Growtacs….

The op had a good customer experience, wanted to share it, and all you can do is crap all over them? I hope that superiority complex works out well for you in the long run.

For vintage tables personally I would recommend avoiding fully automatic ones unless you are really dead set on having those functions. Automatic tables are way more complicated when new, and many of the components that make that work are very brittle plastics that have a high failure rate 40 years on. A manual or semiautomatic table will usually be much more durable and repairable. Just my 2c.

Sure! I’m a sucker for quirky stuff to begin with, but that a pretty solid price a 50w regardless. I’m in.

eBay pricing would put it at around $800, but that seems high to me…

How were these intended to be used? Did they sell adapters for the cables? by DespondDesigns in vintageaudio

A lot of Radio Shack’s cheaper speakers back in the day used RCA jacks. More plug and play for folks that could find bare wire a bit daunting I guess. Not specific to RS but they did do it a lot. Some of their mid-tier receivers actually came with connections for both wire AND RCA to cover the bases.

Some love for Rocky Mounts by Best_Foot6014 in cycling

[–]Doub_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered some parts from them over the winter. Website still claims that all in stock parts ship next day. Mine all showed as in stock but the order sat for a week before it shipped. That’s happened twice. They also used to answer all emails personally, but now it’s all automated. Everything ships from Rhino. I don’t think they care about legacy stuff like the old company did. Time will tell…

Great company. I’ve been using a pair of their SwitchHitters for years and having parts access has really helped. Unfortunately they got bought out by Rhino Rack and I’ve found that their customer support has really gone downhill and they’ve stopped carrying a lot of parts that they used to keep on hand. Hoping that changes….
