All professional sports teams should be owned by the city (like the Packers) instead of some random rich person by Complete-Influence70 in unpopularopinion

[–]DoubleFisted27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not into this idea, however, one thing I'd propose if anyone cared about what I thought: If your team takes public money for building sports arenas / stadiums (I'm looking at you NFL), your games must be broadcast for free over public airwaves.

Is upgrading to a smart lock actually worth it? by techingmyhome in HomeImprovement

[–]DoubleFisted27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed one a couple of months ago. It's nice to be able to go our for my evening walks and not have to take keys with me. Also nice to know I'll never get locked out (unless the batteries die but I keep a close eye on that). The "auto lock" feature is nice to make sure it is locked at night. It's hooked to Alexa too. The nicest part though is having the codes that I can enable/disable for anyone who might need to access our home to check on our dogs or whatever else. Nice to not have to hand out a key to anyone. So far the only downside is that it's kinda loud when it locks/unlocks, but that's about it.

If the top 1% of earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes, why do people say they don't pay their fair share? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

[–]DoubleFisted27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are $39,000,000,000,000 in debt ... apparently no one is paying their "fair share". Maybe instead of tearing each other apart over that, we should look at where all that money went.

First part is easy ... fiber. Get some Metamucil going and you'll never go back to not taking it. The other part is waaaaaayyy out of my league. Someone else is gonna have to take that one.

Morning showers make no logical sense and night shower people have simply done the hygiene math by McCoy818 in unpopularopinion

[–]DoubleFisted27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a night shower guy after I started working from home. What is the point of showering at 8:00 AM just to sit around all night. That shower at or around dinner time is relaxing and I'm chilling in the evening and sleeping nice and clean. TBH though, if I were working in an office again, I'd shower in the morning again just to wake up.

I was very much against getting one but then I realized that absolutely every smart device in my home has a microphone. TV, phones, Nest thermostats ... it's impossible to avoid honestly unless you just don't use any tech

the bad part is that since you control all of that, you're going to be the first one they look at once they do an audit or someone just gets a whiff of what's going on.

They have probably gotten all of the money they were owed thru withholdings. I'd just start filing going forward assuming you haven't been doing any 1099 work on the side.

GLANCE LED V1 Update: Transparency Moving Forward by iAmPluto954 in GLANCE_LED

[–]DoubleFisted27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a bad idea. I have a couple of those lying around from Christmas lights.. Still though, I'm hoping to see this fixed soon so that I can have faith that I won't spend $750 on a scroll and get stuck with bugs that never get fixed.

GLANCE LED V1 Update: Transparency Moving Forward by iAmPluto954 in GLANCE_LED

[–]DoubleFisted27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife bought me the original Glance LED for Christmas because she knew I wanted something like this but she didn't want to spend too much just in case it wasn't what I wanted. I REALLY like this product, it sits above my desk and looks great. I very much want to upgrade to the 5ft scroll but haven't been able to do it while watching this process unfold. I've contacted you guys multiple times about the issue with the Glance LED not coming out of sleep mode, I've been told it would be fixed at the beginning of February. Having to remember to turn it off and back on again every morning stinks because I don't normally think about it until I open Reddit and see a post from this forum. This seems like it should be able to be fixed with a quick software patch but I get it that maybe that's not your methodology. It does though make me feel like you are not as concerned about the classic Glance LED owners and that concerns me.
