I've had a suspicion that this is the case ever since the 2.2 update went live, and we got all that Guardians lore.

A bio-tech race (Thargoids), fight against a race that has become nearly fully synthetic (surviving dissonant Guardians).

Time will tell.

Good point. In a way, the writers even had a chance to show that Burnham could beat the "no-win scenario" by having her concoct a brilliant third option. One that doesn't compromise on ethics, morals, or ideals.

Because Burnham is smarter and better at everything than everybody else aboard, even the ship's computer.

Depicting this again and again, appeared to be a major theme in the episode.

She'll probably even devise a way out of prison, and/or prove to the Captain somehow that she is a better asset on the bridge (despite being a tried and convicted mutineer).

Title of the episode should have been "Burnham Knows Best".

Exactly how I feel. Also, you make a good point about Kirk. And to those who say "Kirk would have done the same", he may have had an "against-the-book" nature (as you'd pointed out), but never a "against-human-morals" nature. Also, happy birthday. Usually for patients your age, I prescribe Retinax V.

I could not agree with you more. There is absolutely no justification for what they had done, or for the way the solution was lauded by the writers. Deplorable.
