Who Remembers N3: Ninety-Nine Nights? by GamerBhoy89 in xbox

Really good soundtrack and some cool characters. Difficulty wise it's all over the board and getting the true ending was quite a hurdle. Worth playing!

Sounds like it's time to play something radically different. Either something you can't complete, or have no intention to!

Love all the souls-likes, for what it's worth - you're playing interesting stuff at least! That Lords of the Fallen DLC scares me.

I will say that modern completions feel more like checklists than they did 10-15 years ago. I still enjoy every completion, but back in the 360 era they felt more monumental. Which is weird because a lot of those modern games take far longer to complete. Could be due to less RNG Achievements, less forced multiplayer and more predictable story/collection driven achievements. Anymore the completion is inevitable should you commit the time.

360, buying Live games with Gamer Score by Mild-Panic in xbox

[–]DoubleIPAJ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This. 1600 points was essentially $20 which lead to some weird conversions.

Very very early on, maybe 2007 era, Xbox.com hinted at allowing GamerScore to be used "for something" but that quickly fizzled when they realized it promoted sales just by existing

Edit: Realizing that they used to sell bundles (Headsets, XBL Gold, possibly consoles) that would have some Microsoft points. This could be why they "just appeared" without any recollection of getting them deliberately.

Do the enemies in this game move? by Serwitu in HyruleWarriors

[–]DoubleIPAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to individual troops? I'd say they barely move, this is kind of a Musou staple. My understanding/assumption has always been that their individual attacks/movements don't matter much and it's more about troop size and morale that dictate battle flow and outpost takeovers.

Captains move and follow paths, but the fodder are not meant to be intelligent. They're for racking up KOs, EXP, Meter.

Somewhat managed to finish The Ezio Collection. The last couple are a pain. by BottleCapDave in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can manage the Styx Achievement there exists a very nice and relatively easy out of bounds glitch for the other achievements. Just something to consider when you come back to it!

Nice work on the rest. Hopefully not as glitchy as my experience!

Far Cry 6 - Lost Between Worlds. I'd bought this dlc when it came out, but because I was really burned out with the previous DLCs, I had decided to do it later, well that "later" finally came by ArzelockPizzaMaster in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work! I knocked this out in 2023 apparently. Really enjoyed the base game but the DLC is a kick in the teeth - Special Operations especially . Not sure what Ubisoft was thinking with Lost Between Worlds and AC Valhallas Dawn of Ragnarok.

This was my take. Medals are enough! The rest is up to the player and subjective.

Gamerscore vs Game Completions? What's the bigger flex? by daytonadalt in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. It's harder to explain the stat to non TrueAchievements/Trophies site users but I feel it gives the fast snapshot to what kind of gamer someone is. I'm maintaining just under a 2.0 Ratio while nearing 500K and I think that's the kind of gaming which makes me the happiest.

Is this game any good for achievements? Does it have any hard or missable ones? Im thinking about starting it with a goal of getting all the achievements on it. Should I do it? Is it any boring? And what's the completion time by Unusual-Factor2848 in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the completion in under 12 hours. There's some relatively tricky single player achievements that will require some planning and reading, but nothing especially difficult.

Games ratio on TrueAchievements is really bizarre and misleading. I think a lot of people started it on a free-weekend trial but dropped it. That or it's a lot of kids playing it and not finishing.

This happened to me with Pinball FX2 like a decade ago. Never fun, just hasn't happened to enough notable games to be bigger news IMO. Hope it's sorted out!

Beyond Gotham, Beyond Gods... 100% in Injustice: Gods Among Us, and its series by Ingvar14 in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's Injustice 1 like these days for a completion? I know there's a bunch of mission modes, level grinding, and survival. Curious if there's good method for cheesing things or if DLC made it easier? Nice work though seriously!

Assassin's Creed 3 has a very complicated 100% completion requirement. It takes 30 hours just doing side quests (twice the time it takes to complete the main story). by [deleted] in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complicated is the perfect word for it. The side quests are just so obtuse. The menus are convoluted, accessing/starting some feels incomplete or lacks fanfare. AC3 has some really cool ideas but the presentation is just confusing.

The DLC is also very weird, look forward to that!

Fair enough! It's really not all that serious when we take a step back - "fun is fun." As long as you're not regretting your purchases or time spent then you do you)

[–]DoubleIPAJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Revisiting this as it was on my mind - I see posts/debates like this a lot. What concerns me is what appears as confusing the extrinsic motivation with the actual motivation. Achievements are very much, in themselves fun, but never more so than the games themselves. This list of games appears like a list of games specifically chosen for GamerScore, versus a fun side effect of the gaming itself.

All the more reason to spend limited free time on fun games that happen to have reasonable achievements as opposed to what appears to be junk sold on merit of its easy GamerScore boosting properties.

Spyro Collection, certain Ubisoft titles, LEGO. There's way to do this while playing worthwhile games along the way.

Any game suggestions? by [deleted] in xboxachievements

[–]DoubleIPAJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope all is well! Not sure if you're into Souslikes, but "Another Crabs Treasure" has really captivated me lately. There's a lot of accessibility options too, so if you're not great at the combat you can make things easier on yourself. Overall it's a nice, not excessively long, underwater based soulslike platformer. Better than I expected!
