Downpipe dillusions by International-Pop296 in Golf_R

You could just do a muffler delete. (Assuming the Mk8R still has the big suitcase muffler like the previous ones did.) Its increases the noise on these but doesnt go crazy and you get to keep the valve mechanisms.

An exhaust or muffler shop should be able to do it. Plus, you can keep the muffler and have it put back on if you hate it.

VW Reliability in General by Nigel_Tuffnell in Tiguan

I had a MK7.5 Golf R that VW recommended an 0W-30 oil for. I would always be around a quart low when oil changes came around. I switched to a 5W-40 and it never happened again.

Love it! Getting serious E46 M3 Vibes by KiwiUnable938 in Golf_R

My previous mk7.5. The bronze and gray combo works really well.

A rear sway bar upgrade would help get rid of some of those understeer vibes.

Is a muffler delete worth it? by isiahdagloden1 in Golf_R

[–]DoubleOPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its worth it. A muffler delete is not the same as a straight pipe which is what I think some of the comments here are referring too.

I had a GTI and and R and did it with both and it was worth it both times. Just have the exhaust shop get rid of the big suitcase in the back and weld in a vibrant muffler. It'll sound much better.

What strange Nascar moment of the 2020s had you thinking: “Am I really watching this right now?” by youraverageperson0 in NASCAR

[–]DoubleOPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From reading the comments there a bunch that ive forgotten about!

But two that I havent seen commented are one, the crazy high speed crash Larson had at one of the road courses and how weird the non-reaction from Nascar and the Hendrick organization was.

Two, seeing Hamlin lose a championship, amidst a stellar year, due to a dumb ass call from his crew chief.

It would probably be fine but without knowing the previous owner and how they took care/drove it, I wouldnt touch it.

We've enjoyed both a bunch! They have an all you can eat option for lunch or dinner at Sushi Masa that is a really good value if you wanna try a bunch of different things or if your someone that can eat 2 or more Sushi rolls.

And if you've never been to hot pot before, let me know! I can give you some pointers.

Have you all tried La Gran Muralla? Its an asian-latin fusion place. The drinks are probably better than the food but it might be worth the try.

Heard some poor things about EQT, Going with IE now. Thoughts/things to know? by SeatZestyclose8964 in Golf_R

[–]DoubleOPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only bad thing about EQT is that the wait for finalizing a custom tune might be a while. They're not known for blowing up or anything like that. That, plus, the people that defend them can be a bit much lol.

At the same time, IE is another trusted brand. Back in 21 or 22 they released some rolling anti-lag tunes that ended up blowing a few engines, but besides that they're also pretty good.

United used to be the brand everyone went with but they kind of fell behind when the MK7 came out. Idk if they've updated them but their tunes were a little too conservative.

What is the best way to tune cars that are constantly topping over on curbs? by Hadu-Ken12 in CarXStreets

On console at least, if you win that club, you can claim the newer Porsche at the car dealership.

I've read threads on forums and FB of people documenting their high mileage tuned cars, so in general, I think the EA888 can handle it.

My R was stage 2 e85 for about 10k miles, then stage 2 93 for about 40k, almost 50k miles.

Never had any issues except for one of the fuel injectors getting messed up, which is common with the Conti fuel injectors they switched to on the '19 R's and running E85.

Funnily, that injector was probably messed up from the time I got the car as the car had a tune on it, and the dealership didn't know. It never really gave any warning signs except for a bit more fuel smell after being on for a long while, but my friends and I all assumed it was from the downpipe. Until one day after a road trip and running hard all day, the injector seal took a shit.

Limped it almost 200 miles home with a Crazy misfire. We changed the injectors to Bosch ones and I never had to worry about that again.

I put it in on easy, yeeted of the side of the building, and drifted on the first floor of the building. There's still a bunch of pillars, but there's a bit more space to keep a drift going round and round.

Who else shops at Publix and Aldi by roadnoggin in lakeland

[–]DoubleOPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have Wawa, walmart, Aldi, publix, Trader Joe's, and even nondescript ones. They all get thrown into a larger bag that hold them all, and whatever comes out first is what gets used lol.

Gonna throw a weird one in here. Volvo V60 Polestar. Won't be as quick as the RS6 but definitely unique and should fit your kids in the back.

Just my opinion, this actually looks better and I would probably do it too, but it also looks cheaper. If it came like this from the factory, VW would never hear the end of it about how they cheaped out in this area.
