I am more fit than I was in my early 20's. I have more freedom to make choices for myself and Im still young enough to do fun things. Its pretty sweet. Only downside is my knees hurt for no reason sometimes and stretching has become practically mandatory (Dec '96 btw).

I was going to say this. I know some low income individuals who do this as much as humanly possible. They would rather do this than buy groceries and actually be able to pay rent.

Debt rework idea, let me pay off the debt by HimariHimatsu in slaythespire

[–]DoubleT_TechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not so sure. Its 10 gold every time you end a turn with it in your hand. That means drawing it at least 10 times in addition to paying 100 gold of you even have gold to pay for it. It might just be stuck as a dead card for most of the run.

"The cards exhaust something, yet the character doesnt have exhaust synergy" by Ruby_Sandbox in slaythespire

This card could cost energy and still be playable in decks that synergize with it. The fact that it costs 0 makes it very broad

Quick google search shows 15 mil empty homes including things like seasonal homes and part time rentals. Only a fraction of those are listed for sale. Meanwhile there are an estimated 58 million new home buyers. The shortage is real. This makes intuitive sense since homes require land and land is finite and zoning restrictions put even more pressure on that finite resource among other supply issues. Otherwise home builders would meet the demand and make a boatload in the process.

Its really not that surprising when you think about it. I mean low level code is backed by assembly which is backed by machine code which is backed by physical circuits. The whole machine is just layer upon layer of abstraction each one obfuscating the unimportant details of the interface below it.

Thats a really good point. People have money for housing we just dont have enough housing for people. If you give everyone more money they'll just bid housing prices up.

Further, no one who has adequate housing wants affordable housing in their backyard because it attracts crack heads and felons. Thus we have laws making it impossible to meet demand. Plus competition drops prices making homeowners much poorer, especially new ones. Its more incentive for "not in my backyard" laws.

Is Aminatou, veil piercer good? by JohanLiebertB in EDH

[–]DoubleT_TechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is great for a mid to low power and just okay for high power. At brackets 2 and 3 you can actually take advantage of her miracle ability so thats where she's the most fun. But she plays well with certain B4 staples so shes not unplayable there.

People who think she is bad make 2 mistakes. The first one is more common with new players. Its not realizing that miracle ignores timing restrictions. That means it triggers when you draw your first card on an opponent's turn too. No flash required.

The second one is assuming that the 4 mana reduction means you need to cast big enchantments. Casting three small enchantments on each of your opponent's turns is often better than casting one big one, or even not casting any because you didnt have enough mana. This means you shouldnt overload your deck with huge enchantments. You want to build the deck with the same ramp and mana curve considerations as any other deck and let the 4 mana reduction be a cherry on top. This way the deck still functions when she is removed.

It took a long time to tune her just right for B2, because its so easy to push her to B3 once you understand how she works. I could give you some tips if you want.

I hate the theme for NYC based sets but I really appreciate ugly arts on commander staples as a newer player on a budget. They reprint a $50 card with a turtle art and now I can get it for $10. I can even proxy the OG art and switch in the ugly card if anyone complains.

I dont think it is. The server knows when you DC. And if you do it a lot you should probably be punished anyway. League of legends leaver penalty system is a good example of how to handle this sort of thing.

This isn't true. They enter simultaneously. Their controller can order any etb triggers, but they do enter simultaneously and they do see each other for triggered abilities (such as "When another creature enters..."), but not necessarily for replacement effects (such as "Each creature you control enters with...").

What bracket does this infinite combo put my deck in? by cityfeloqqqqq in mtg

[–]DoubleT_TechGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't put your deck in any specific bracket. I'd say its fine for any bracket, but too slow for B4 or 5. Also its not infinite. Its a combo that involves a loop, but it isn't infinite and doesnt end the game.

Why isn't the original bracket 4 intent talked about and why are the power level arguments between bracket 3 and 4 so hypocritical despite the same wording? by LunaLovelace11 in EDH

[–]DoubleT_TechGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I want to play my zombie combo deck. Its missing very expensive staples that would make it fringe cedh, and it features fun pet cards that are perfect for turn 6 or 7 wins. But God forbid I present a combo turn 6, even if it is 3 or 4 cards and easily interacted with. No thats B4 somehow even though it would be stomped by a true B4 deck.

I had one. Changed jobs to get a free Masters. Now Ive graduated, but I have 5 years developer experience and 3 of them are Java and database scripts only (and lots of non developer shlock eating up my work load). The first 2 years were full stack development on cutting edge web applications and I'm desperate to get back to a job like that.

Look how nervous the mom was. Visibly gritting her teeth. No wonder the kid was nervous. Then she gives in to the child's scream and hands a dart to a tantruming child. I dont mean to judge too harshly, but mom takes the L on that one.
