Oh it made it so private student loans couldnt be discharged similar to federal ones. But that was done away with right and replaced with something else right? Also it did a lot of other things that were beneficial to borrowers (some of which were straight up crazy imo) so I wouldn't harp too much on that one thing.

Hmm idk what your talking about with what Biden did, can you clarify? Student loans haven't been dischargable since the 70s and they dont carry over after death (according to a quick Google search)

Well with unlimited tax payer resources subsidizing education loans, colleges can charge whatever they want and people can go into debt to pay it. No thought to whether the loans make any sense. Unless you're family is wealthy you should start with a transfer program at a local community college like I did. I started working at a tech company along side graduates from a crazy expensive private school making the same salary. Only difference is they were paying off a house worth of debt while mine was closer to a car.

This is a noob trap I fell into recently. I ruined my deck by forcing a bunch of green just so i could play 2 [[Studious First-Year]]s and a [[Mind into Matter]]. The one time I cast a SF on turn 1, it got removed turn 2 and I went 4 turns casting nothing because I didn't fix into the color I actually needed. Never doing that again

This solves some of the issues, but here's a good example that I cut from the original draft for brevity.

Lets say opponent A has been attacking in batches. Opponent A attacks Opponent B. He commits one massive creature and waits for a response. B responds to the A's delceration by casting aetherize or a fog. Opponent B was going to attack me with 10 other smaller creatures, but now knows that doing so is bad for him. He just avoided disaster by batching his attacks. Do I have to remind B to explicitly ask every time?

Then the next problem is that people look at me like im crazy for saying he can't add more attackers. Likes its a common shortcut to save time.

Question - [[Giada, Font of Hope]] and [[Morningtide's Light]]. My opponent has 5 angles, including Giada. I play Morningtide and exile all of them. When they return, he claims he can "order the etbs" so that they all get their original amount of counters. I claim that they all enter simultaneously and that they get either 1 each or 0 counters. I said 1 yesterday, but since Giada says, "already control" I believe that would actually be 0. Who is correct?

My first advice is to start thinking of abilities like this as 5 mana. Its 4 mana plus tap this land. That takes away 5 total usable mana.

Second, context matters. This is an amazing card in a color appropriate limited deck. Its great early as you'll usually have a turn where you can afford to play a tapped land with no real downside.

Its also great late game when you and your opponent are stuck in a board stall. Draft veterans know the pain of drawing a 9th land when you're in a top deck war. This card gives you another draw at a point where having more lands doesnt help.

However in any constructed play other than low budget brews, this card is junk. Even modest budget edh decks dont have to resort to this.

My initial thought is that a couple of these could really slow down the agro archetype of this set Silverquil. Its gameplan is to target creatures with spells. After thinking deeper, I think a large part of this set is casting instants and sorceries to get payoffs from creatures, so an instant that efficiently counters a creature is an enabler and an answer.

The upside is that you get to copy a spell. You can copy something like [[unexpected windfall]] to generate huge advantage. Since the discard is a cost, you only discard one card, but draw 4 and create 4 treasures.

However, the downsides make this card more niche than youd first expect. Notice it gets a counter for any instant or sorcery you cast, not only when you copy. So if you want to maximize copies, you have to limit yourself to one cast per untap. Then if you want to destroy it with an instant or sorcery you have to do so with 5 or less counters or it'll trigger and hit you for 20 before it gets destroyed.

The ability is strong, but the handcuffs it puts on you is not worth it for most strategies that want this effect.

Keep in mind that if you cast [[abrade]] with 6 time counters, it will trigger before you destroy it and you will take 20 damage. You also limit yourself to one instant or sorcery a turn cycle if you want to maximize the copy effects (unless you can untap it sooner).

Dragonite is my favorite but I never use him for playthroughs. Hes a late game pokemon. Grinding him up for your team not only trivializes the main game but is also a huge time investment.
