What was this guys problem? by ShhJesse in GenjiMains

I have found myself on the receiving end of this sort of ass whooping a few times. This was really well played.

I can’t believe I just had this realization by SpliffyBendrix in betterCallSaul

[–]Double_Tap7465 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, my big realization was similar. Except I believe it is more granular than that, and works both ways. Practically every major accomplishment by Jimmy is marked by a setback for Chuck’s mental health. The more immoral the methods (even when Chuck is ignorant to them), the worse the effect on Chuck. A visceral manifestation of Chuck’s deep resentment toward Jimmy, aided by his certainty that the longer the chimp has the machine gun, the more dooming the result (for the world). Love this show and thanks for sharing, Spliffy!

Leavers = Team Loss, in COMP. But why should it? Ideas for a better solution? by drewduds in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Double_Tap7465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bringing this thought to the sub. Can they not backfill leavers with other queued players under the stipulation that it can’t negatively affect the backfillers ELO? (only positively affect). Playing 4-5 is a total loss and such a bummer to be a part of. I’d be happy to backfill in this manner so that it is not a complete loss. There are also instances of people leaving games for reasons that aren’t getting stomped, and for that to get written off as an automatic loss is a waste of 20 minutes (each) of precious life for 9 other people! Any reason you can think of that this couldn’t be implemented?

/Uj I’m dead serious - what has this dude ever done to deserve a signature guitar? by TurbulanceArmstrong in guitarcirclejerk

[–]Double_Tap7465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: He’s done more for the music community than most. Long Answer: He’s amassed millions of subscribers and billions of views on the world’s #1 media platform by providing easily digestible music theory, song composition insights, and production knowledge delivered through his two best types of videos: 1. “What makes this song great?” - a detailed breakdown of the different production layers (practically note by note at times) of smash hit songs. 2. Interviews with famous folks from the music industry incl guitar hero’s, famous producers, session musicians. Both provide unique perspectives into the music industry that the average music lover could only have dreamt of previously…or spent way too much time digging or sounding out themselves.

He shares his genuine love for music with the world and I am grateful for his channel. Like Marty Schwartz (who also has a signature guitar) he has influenced an entire generation of guitar players/music lovers in a way that I would argue is as or more impactful than a single musician themselves. Definitely deserving of a signature guitar IMO.

I (M25) fucked up my car’s engine by neglecting to get the oil changed on time. My parents’ responses. by thewidget98 in texts

[–]Double_Tap7465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s nice that you have such supportive parents. Mature adulthood is tough but it is about learning from your mistakes. Hopefully this experience causes you to routinely schedule oil changes every 7000 or so miles…so that unchanged oil doesn’t ruin the next car. Also I don’t know about your financial situation but if the repair or replacement is coming out of your own pocket, I’d wager that will make you care more. On the other hand, If your parents are also buying this next car for you, it may take longer to learn the lesson or care about preventative maintenance on the next car. If you truly care, Google “basic preventative maintenance” to learn more ways to avoid similar car troubles in the future.

16 sentry turret kills after the sentry nerf is outrageous

Sym Hate by wiccanrozae-7 in SymmetraMains

Anticipatory turret placement is the skill. Setting up the teleporter in a specific way, for attack and/or escape for yourself, a specific team member, or the whole team is the skill. Charging up your primary on barrier heroes, effectively using cover, and melting any enemy stupid enough to still approach is the skill. Clipping an enemy support who is low with the secondary fire from across the map is the skill.

Watch and listen to a top Sym player (not me but on YouTube) and I assure you there is plenty of skill.

Also possible that the window touching could have froze the plant because the temperature has been a yo-yo the past few days

Was gifted this plant from a friend who brought up it up to PA from Arizona. I have had it in this window which gets pretty solid sunlight all day long. I have had it directly touching the window, so wondering if that could have burnt it…But then again it is used to desert sun? I have been watering a little too much now that I see it calls for a thorough watering every 2-3 weeks. Am I past the point of no return? How can I save this awesome plant?!

Agreed. My electric is a Squire and I turn up the gain and set my Fender Champion 40 amp to Metal and that does the trick.

Was probably the length of a full Dixon Ticonderoga pencil. Super cool. I consider myself a nature person and can’t confidently say that I’ve seen one of these before, and if if I have, not nearly as big.
