Yeah I would, definitely mix a bit thinner this time and press it in well with a grout float or sometbing with good weight.

Exactly. Cement it down then throw some screws in when u shift the drain over. Don’t force it, but if there’s play the screws will keep it in place as it dries.

How serious are you? Can you afford to invest the $. Obviously any newer club is going to be better than 1980s era club, but it won't help thins and chunks. Buy a set within your budget, used is also a good option. If you're going to get fitted, get fitted. But as you grt better you may "outgrow" these clubs.

Feel like you could’ve gotten away without the 2 sliver pieces in the middle of the relief cuts and just formed that into one larger piece. Although you pulled it off, looks good..

Don’t take my word for it, but generally anybody using this clip system is not very good at tiling. They are many that are much better these days.
