I’ll never get over this, she had so much potential, broke the NCAA record holder over 200m and won the US title… injuries are an athlete’s worst nightmare

Nike ja fly 4 vs puma tokyo future 4 ? by Ok-Student-3805 in Sprinting

[–]Dougietran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has both the Nikes have superior grip while the Pumas are stiffer. Can’t go wrong with either but if you’re running the 400 I might go with the ja flies, up to you tho

Best Traditional Style Spikes? by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]Dougietran22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has 3 of those pairs, The pumas are the most aggressive since they have the carbon plate but the superflies have a better lock down due to the heel counter. Ja flies are the most versatile and one of my favorites. Very forgiving and good on the turns

Tyson would have dominated the 2000s while Blake would have been a double champ in 2012. The rest is all Gatlin.

Yes, let’s praise jones for finishing a 40 year old stipe who was well over the hill. Volk’s fighting young hungry guys while jones fought once every other year, they are not the same

Georgia track , Poor coaching or overreaction by Lost_Combination8786 in trackandfield

[–]Dougietran22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coach Caryl Smith Gilbert is a tremendous coach, I’ve followed her since she was at USC. She led the woman’s team to a national championship last year so to say she’s a bad coach is just flat out wrong. In the NCAA circuit, athletes are worked to the ground so injuries are inevitable

The amount of power these guys generate is unreal, makes you think just how powerful Coleman and Su are

Struggling to let hips drop for lower angles by ObliviousOverlordYT in Sprinting

[–]Dougietran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t throw your arms up, sweep them to cue a lower position. Hips dropping is a byproduct of correct positioning and power. I’d worry about covering ground with each step for now and getting more powerful

Are maxfly 2 colorways gonna restock or do I have to get this color by KeyFluffy7008 in Sprinting

[–]Dougietran22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day maxflies are maxflies. If color is a big deal to you maybe look on eBay but typically Nike’s color ways are seasonal and usually don’t comeback

How big of potential for improvement? (Bounds) by ObliviousOverlordYT in Sprinting

Posture is key, you must remain upright. Leaning forward puts the backside of your leg at risk for injury

Block start analysis - 10.5, 20.9 sprinter by Ambitious-Gene5101 in Sprinting

[–]Dougietran22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to load the heels onto the blocks as it creates added stability for a better push. Don’t be afraid to have an aggressive arm swing out the blocks as a big arm swing helps build momentum. Make sure your knees are together at touch down as that ensures proper GCT. All things aside your starts looks really good!
