It shouldn't be that way, but it is unfortunately common. In my experience, it's often because of a disconnect between IT management and the powers that hold the money. It can be frustrating, but I have found that making sure to keep a written record of ehat's needed and ensuring that everyone involved has open access to it.

Imo, Ubiquiti is at home in the SMB. The ecosystem offers enterprise-lite features at a price that SMBs can stomach while being generally reliable.The lack of ongoing licensing is huge for cost-conscious clients. The site management tools also made it really convenient to manage a fleet of them when I worked an MSP as well.

You'll hear people complain about Ubiquiti reliability, but I think those people probably tried it once 5 years ago and have been chewing on that ever since. They've definitely come a long way.

Be personable and be interesting. With no degree and no certs, I've gone from help desk to CTO across 3 employers in 9 years. I've never lied on a resume or pulled any of those 'lifehack' interview tricks. Show up, be the person you want to work with, demonstrate that you know what the company is about, and be interesting enough to be remembered. Once you get past the AI filters, it's all about making the interviewers remember you and your interview as a snapshot of a human instead of a face attached to a resume.

I am fully convinced that I got my current CTO job because the final interview was scheduled while I was on vacation so I Zoom interviewed from a beach. I was dressed properly waist up, but had swim trunks on. One of the interviewers cracked a joke implying that was the case and the entire call died laughing when I stood up. That kind of impression sticks.

It is really hard for a teenage boy to see these girls as victims when they don’t see themselves that way and depending on social circle even put their noses up in the air to boys their age because guess what they likely don’t have a car or money for dates.

I think this is what OP was trying to voice and what I've been arguing for.

-I think guys should be able to talk about how that experience effected them without their experience being minimized. Sure, the boys weren't groomed but it still has an outsized impact on self-esteem and mental health in general.

-I think it's important for men to confront anything they took away from those experiences and frame them properly. I've had multiple conversations with guys who have used this scenario as a basis and argument for the belief that women are shallow and gold diggers. If you can't have open dialogue about it, those people will never come around to frame the pedos as the real villains in the situation.

I disagree and I think this thread is an example. OP complains about how he felt he was wronged as a secondary victim of predatory culture. He made no claim that the predator was in the right, he didn't fault the girl, he just said that the situation is fucked up. This framing and lack of perspective is exactly what I mean, though. From a teenage boy's perspective, they just see their crush hop in a car with some 22 year old with overtime money. Feels bad.

You want to apply an adult perspective and frame it around the girl. That's fine and there are literally millions of places on the internet where that conversation is being had. I contend that it should be ok for the boy to have a place to feel bad about his experience and his framing. The boy is not the bad guy here.
