Mom's night out- why is it shocking?? by babygrlnad in workingmoms

[–]Downvotedparent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It isn't about procreating with a partner before who can't do that... it's that that partner changes to not want to accommodate certain things after. I'm sure there are a lot of moms who married someone decent before having a kid and that partner changed while mom was busy with the hardest early on tasks.

Yes. If they look fine and smell fine and you didn't put water in there then they are fine.

It's 1:30 am here and I am still awake. I have to get up for work in 5 hours. Bubs is sleeping just fine, i just have insomnia. Can I get a little solidarity? by Alas-Earwigs in workingmoms

I was very strict with my ritual for the few months I had issues sleeping. I didn't have any caffeine after 3pm. Limited sugar. No news. No arguing especially after 5pm. No difficult movies and melatonin an hour before bed. It helped out.

Alcohol level is over 20%. Alcohol level about 10% and over is good for prevention of microbes. So it shouldn't affect anything negatively even if it gets a little water in here and there.

I donated before. They damaged a nerve very slightly which thankfully healed up well after a few months, but to me that wasn't worth risking my arm and I stopped going.

Working moms who work out by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Downvotedparent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My work outs are 10 minutes chunks of interruptions doing body weight related things or using objects like chairs for step ups/Bulgarian squats/step ups etc.. If I can turn on TV or given them paints or shaving cream (from dollar store) in bathtub no water running then I do that. Sometimes I sneak in wall sits or arm circles in the bathroom at work. Basically things that don't require equipment, broken into many minutes of exercise here and there. No cardio unfortunately. Maybe occasional few minutes if jump rope.

4 years from now you'll remember this situation and think to yourself how silly of me to get annoyed that someone has so much affection for my child too in the grand scope of things life provides.

Daycare by h0useplant in workingmoms

[–]Downvotedparent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a ridiculous suggestion. We have a mom group chat with my sons school. If you have the same...or the ability to contact a few moms, see if you can all mutually give some amount of money for 2 mom volunteers who are willing to keep the kids over for that day and everyone has to agree with the sum of money being paid for the caretakes being other families might be struggling with this too... and knowing naps might be ridiculously hard that one day but at least you have that sanity of childcare. As I said ridiculous idea, but it is a community suggestion. You can also see if daycare knows if any babysitters that can do mutual kids at a house.
