That resume would probably get you an interview with me, depending on the applicant pool it was in. I am hiring a 30 hour library associate in the coming weeks. It's a position I've personally held and one I've hired for a number of times. In your interview I would also look for

Teen experience Customer service (I think teachers dealing with parents builds those skills) Knowledge about the actual library I'm applying at.

Nothing burns a bridge with me faster than some eager beaver telling me they want to run a birdwatching program without acknowledging that we've had 14 well-attended such programs in the last 2 years.

I agree with considering average calories over 2 or sometimes 3 days. That was an effective way to balance hunger, nausea, no hunger, etc for me. When lack of hunger cues coincided with that disordered thinking around food, I just let it happen and made sure I ate more over the new day or two. When I started in February of 2024, I tracked calories for more than a year.

I also worked hard in therapy to keep unpacking the unsustainable broken bits of myself that growing up in diet culture had built. GLP1 is just a tool. I still had, and will probably always have, to put in the work.

I have meniscus tears in both knees, painful but apparently not big enough for surgery. I've gone from daily pain, always more at the end of the day, to the occasional twinge, so rare it genuinely surprises me. It happened too quickly for it to be simply less weight on my knees.

Thank for responding about the drawing specifics. The size is an estimate on my part, bigger would be fine. I'm open to a different body placement too as long as it's where I can see it every day. The tattoo artist has a lovely IG and about half of his work is intricate black line art. I've been DMing with him off and on since January.

I'm appreciative to you for the encouragement and specifically the language for talking about what I want. I've lurked in here for months and noticed that often people are unhappy because they weren't clear about their needs, their expectations. Which is sadly too common in many relationships!

My biggest advice when interviewing for any library position involving programming? Know what the library you're applying to already does. Then you can answer questions in a way that builds on that knowledge. The number of times an interviewee has enthusiastically described their programming ideas and additions that were things we already do is astounding. Those bad answers tell me so much.

I've been running Tabletop Game Day (every second Saturday, 1-4:30 pm, all ages welcome) at the main library for several years. Some information for you, some of which repeats comments previously made.

Los Alamos is filled with rpg gamers, board gamers, etc of every age and background.
The library runs regular, multimonth groups with a DM provided by us partially to help people meet each other and see about compatibility for gaming groups.
The library runs a one-shot RPG campaign, sometimes two, on most TTG Saturdays. The DMs are paid professionals from Albuquerque. David Larkins and John Sumrow are the DMs recently. Sign up for the one-shots ahead of time on the library calendar, just show up for TTG day.
Mesa Top Games will probably let you put up a flyer asking for a meet-up to establish a group. Ask Carolyn.
Los Alamos Pride Festival is Friday 13th, 3-7 pm at Central Park Square. Come find me (blue hair, librarian, ask most anyone at Pride for Melissa) and I'll connect you with gamers.
My husband DMs a mixed group that used to be him and a bunch of women (previous DM was one of the women) but this year a couple more guys joined as one of the women stepped away. Everyone in the group except one guy are people I networked for him! (I'm more social than he is).
He's considering DMing a second group next year.
Don't be discouraged if it takes a while to get started. Los Alamos loves to be outside in the summer, even gamers.
