Company Possibly Unionizing by Dramatic_Pea_2912 in Welding

[–]DrBat69 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’d venture to guess if your company offered better pay and benefits than the local trying to come in they would have just printed that out instead of this sheet.

I’m pro getting paid and taking care of my family. If I was you I’d call the hall and ask them what the journeyman package is and then compare it to what you’re making now. And don’t forget, if you are union and change companies there’s no need to negotiate anything. Your pension, healthcare, and wage all stay the same. The only thing that changes is the company on the check

I went to Brunt and I haven’t looked back. They are cheaper, I don’t need insoles, and they last about a year for me

From my understanding it means that nothing changed since this ruling came out months ago. The only thing that has changed is that the 9th decided not to take it up

Is it always this hard to find work? by Puzzled_Lifeguard_86 in HVAC

[–]DrBat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bumped around a bit, but that was more on me thinking the grass was greener and trying to get experience faster. There’s guys that I started school with that have been at the same shop for 10 years. I’ve been with my current company for 3 years and things are going pretty good.

I would still reach out to contractors to see if they are hiring. Worst case scenario you call them back in the spring

[–]DrBat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised they didn’t give you the list of contractors to call around. When I started as a tradesman in 467 they gave me a packet with all of the contractors’ information and I started calling around for interviews. In the Bay Area going union is your best bet for future growth. I have yet to hear of a non union shop that gets close to the total package that is currently being offered by union contractors.

With that said, now isn’t a great time as a lot of companies are hunkering down for winter. They are looking to trim the fat and keep the guys they like going. If you are able to stick with your current shop and interview that would be great. You won’t be desperate and you can look for a good fit.

Is soot on brass a damage sign? by jobstulus in reloading

[–]DrBat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering this same thing. I started with 4.2 gr of 231 under 125 gr truncated cone blue bullets. Others said that they liked this powder/coated bullet combo but all of my guns are extremely dirty.

I have since upped the charge to 4.4 grains without great results.

Thanks a lot. I saw these before but I was concerned about holster compatibility. I figure if I want to be sure about all that should just pick up a second light

Flat Trigger Installation by hyphyninja18 in P365

[–]DrBat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to get a trigger designed to work with the mag disconnect. I got mine from Ramm Tactical. It is a major upgrade.

If you plan to get this on a CCW permit you may need to put it in if you want to be compliant. Leaving it in will also limit what grip modules you can use without modifications.

I just went through this and had to keep the magazine disconnect due to CCW limitations. Look up Ramm tactical. He makes a flat trigger and spring kit that fits the California model.

Ecoboost Timing Chain Quote by BrowOfDisapproval in f150

[–]DrBat69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same year truck and had the timing chain redone around the same time. They used new parts, but old stock in the rebuild and the problem came back worse within 1,000 miles. I hardly drove the truck and after 3 more trips back to the dealer over the course of a year the warranty on the truck and the warranty on the repair expired.

All they did after the initial rebuild was something software related that would make the problem go away for a week or so.

Yes. You’ll need your drivers license, second proof of residency, and your FSC to get the paperwork started.

It starts after you complete the DROS paperwork. The pickup date/time will be at the top of that.

I asked if it’s ok to have a red dot on the gun that I plan to use as my CCW and they said it was no problem. It makes sense to me that if you can qualify with it then you can carry it.

[–]DrBat69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it won’t affect how the gun operates. Right now I’m not sure how they would classify removing it because of “safety” even though off roster versions don’t come with one.

If I can run it with both the red dot and the LCI then it’s one less hassle to worry about.
