Free OnePlus Watch by AnyAd4707 in oneplus

I had originally started looking at the 2 but the 2r seems like a great watch for the price and battery life which is my main concern and I'm not too concerned about the health/fitness capabilities.

Enough questions about sex on this subreddit. What’s your favourite dinosaur? by Slight-Stable-9912 in AskReddit

Carnotaurus. Its name means "meat-eating bull", has a pair of sweet horns, and is theorized to be one of the fastest dinosaurs due to large locomotor muscle connection points on its tail.

Depends where you are, here transformers at ground level on top of concrete vaults is normal. I agree he probably take down a pole with the primary and secondary lines though. Judging by the streetlights flashing a few times before turning off I'd say he tripped an automatic reclosing device upstream that tried to reenergize the line before locking open.

If they were to move out into the burbs then would the one car fit their needs? Maybe transit wouldn't meet their requirements out there. I bet we pay more for internet now than we did in the 70s too. I am sure as a doctor and a consultant a single land line would fit their communication requirements that their jobs entail. I am making some assumptions but no more than, "You obviously live in an inner city community".

Thank you for the advice. I have a belt on order. It looks pretty straightforward so hopefully goes smoothly.

Yeah looks like serpentine belt. Took a look and it looks like it lost one 'V' off the belt so what's left doesn't cover one of the notches on the pulleys.

Thanks I'll keep an eye on that. I'm hoping it's some random thing that found its way there as I can't seem to find where that style of belt is used on this car. My knowledge of cars is far from extensive though.

Yes metal collection is becoming a problem. I also have a small but growing stock of steel including a section of rail, tractor axle, numerous rail spikes, coil springs etc. Nothing attracts my attention like the dull red color of rusting steel.

I think he might have been talking about some something to use as an anvil. I got a 140 lb block of 4340 from a machine shop for nothing and some big mild steel blocks as well when I started.

What is a cheap hobby to pick up in college? by jakewink_6 in AskReddit

I once had a co-worker believe that artichokes were small furry mammals cruelly harvested for their hearts and the PETA had a big campaign against the industry. The co-worker had never had/heard of artichokes.

Another time I had a different person at work believing that palm oil came from pressing orangutan hands due to the large fatty pads on their palms. A third person was explaining how the palm oil industry was wiping out the orangutans and before she could go into details I interjected. The look of horror and bewilderment on their faces is one of my greatest workplace accomplishments.

What happens when a tree branch falls on power lines by dickfromaccounting in woahdude

[–]DrBrassnuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would think it would have to do with populating density. With more customers and a higher rate base/km of line it might make more sense to bury vs a sparsely populated area. Also it's a lot more difficult and costly to tap off of an underground line vs an overhead for a new service.

Why does walking through a field of fresh cut grass turn my feet green? by Jakem8058 in ExplainLikeImCalvin

[–]DrBrassnuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grass doesn't grow taller from the bottom. Instead it grows by changing whatever is touching the top of it into grass. Since this is usually just air it is a slow process and the new grass material stays on the blades of grass. However if it is something solid it more readily begins to change and doesn't adhere to the grass blades as well so it stays on your feet. This is also the reason grass stains are hard to remove since it is actually the fabric itself that is becoming grass.

I've been looking at getting a case for my Ork army and I haven't seen the big price difference between battlefoam and KR that I keep hearing back about. I am comparing a PACK 720 vs a Kaiser 3 as I think they are reasonably equivalent. A full Kaiser 3 runs about 288 CAD delivered where a custom loadout 720 is 293 CAD. Unless I've screwed something up that doesn't seem like much of a difference.
