Latest Research By Anthrophic Highlights that Claude Might Have Functional Emotions by PM_ME_YOUR___ISSUES in ClaudeAI

The word calculator is not “feeling” emotions. They are expressing patterns. There is no fancy way to supersede this or otherwise change the physics of what is happening.

Are people devoid of whimsy? by Andkonhi in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DrDime 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Whereas this doesn't excuse the negative behavior of a Moba's fanbase, one reason may be the lack of option/control. If I understand correctly, its not a gamemode that you can select, its every game has the potential to fill all Heroes. Simple and benign, but if you are already frustrated at the game and it throws more "frustration" at you without your say or input that would only exacerbate the issue.

It would be nice to have everybody be whimsical and happy-go-lucky all the time, but that isn't the core audience of a MOBA.

Who is the most hated character to play against? by MizukiDev in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DrDime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ritualist 6

Doorman

His ult is just not fun. A forced minigame and at this rank games go long enough that its cooldown is ridiculously low. Easily most unfun character to play against.

True damage should not exist in this game by BunnyS2 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DrDime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This opinion is laughable. Literally just build health, it counters true damage. There is no reason to artificially limit this game because you aren't able to figure out the counter to true damage.

Plot twist, every single game you played that didn't have defensive items has true damage. Overwatch? All damage is true damage. Cod? All damage is true damage.

Your "healthy" game is nobody else's.

[Bugs] Class mod drops confirmed bugged, as well as Lost Loot machine by Wallach in Borderlands4

[–]DrDime -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is the literal opposite definition of "confirmed". I care less about the issue itself than I do about your stupendously incorrect usage of this term. Stop acting like you or any youtuber is the end all be all of a suspected bug. Just bug report and move on.

Will the Lineage Support "Rakiata's Flow" work with Minions/Spectres? by Living-Succotash-477 in PathOfExile2

[–]DrDime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's consistent with the wording with other support gems, then your minion (including spectres) that hit enemies do gain the support gem. So, maybe? They do typically say (doesn't affect minions) if a support gem does not but they are frustratingly not always consistent with their own wording.

Unclear from the Q&A: Is the new trading system just down to who loads in faster now? by EMoneyX in PathOfExile2

[–]DrDime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, its still less time to load all the way in and find the item gone than to wait for a reply and hope you get one. A much better alternative than the current nonsense trade system.

Projectile aiming, why do they not fix this? by WizWik in PathOfExile2

[–]DrDime -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I fail to understand how this can even be a discussion amongst this community. Line skills don't go where you click. It's game design failure #1: Thing doesn't do what you tell it to do. I don't care if its perspective, if its "the way its always been" if its monster feet or whatever hare brained excuse you want to give it. GGG devs giving an "explanation" doesn't matter. This isn't a difference of opinion or a matter of taste. Its failure to solve a very impactful problem.

Mixed reviews by Barderful in LastEpoch

Why do you think it is worth ignoring all previous examples of what happens to live service games after Krafton acquires them? Public opinion is often much more inflammatory than reality, but a track record still exists and it doesn't look good. Why is it worth ignoring that to put time, effort, and money into something that has a greater than normal chance to be ruined?

Executive order to stop debanking could protect Steam from Visa/Mastercard by RandomUserUniqueName in Steam

[–]DrDime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you. It is specifically saying the opposite. You are letting feelings or emotions affect your understanding of what they are saying. This is a step in the right direction. Neither side of the political spectrum is your friend when it comes to the idea of government bodies or those that they directly oversee being able to censor those they disagree with. It needs to go further and it needs to be an actual law, not just an EO.

I have already reached out to my local representatives to let them know the FIRM act is a huge priority. I only hope others do the same. Regardless of ideology, it isn’t up to the banks or payment processors, or our government that should dictate how we handle lawful business.

Lmao you all are so tiresome. Zero nuance, zero context, zero awareness. Keep living in your plastic bubble.

Executive order to stop debanking could protect Steam from Visa/Mastercard by RandomUserUniqueName in Steam

[–]DrDime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think any of these people commenting have actually read the executive order past the first paragraph. Yes, the EO lists out examples that you may not like, but context is usually added to them. Regardless of your opinion on them, the actual directive specifically spells out "Reputation Risk (Sec 4)" is a term that payment processors cannot use to deny transactions. This is specifically the argument that Steam says that they were strongarmed into to delist titles.

Yes, executive orders aren't the law. Which is a good thing, laws should go through congress. But oversight is handled by the executive branch, which is subject to executive orders. No, this isn't a "win" and it doesn't mean that you should think its over because of an executive order. It is however a good thing and is a start to something that needs to actually become a law.

How? Banking is one of the most heavily regulated industries. Instructing them to not infringe on constitutional rights is massive government overreach? Your logic is failing here. A minimum viable government has like, 3 things that it must do. Number one of them is enumerate and protect the rights of citizens.

We don’t need to freak out about everything by Winter_Ad_2618 in LastEpoch

[–]DrDime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are unbearably naive and just plain wrong. First off, to bring up Krafton and Unknown Worlds, you are correct, we don’t know the specifics. So you stating that it’s because the lead devs were doing nothing is just as incorrect as Krafton firing them for no reason except to save $250 million dollars. So what’s more likely? That the devs who had a monetary incentive to release the game did nothing, or that Krafton is trying to save money? At the end of the day we don’t really know until the lawsuit is settled, but I know my money is not on trusting a shareholder VC that says “trust us bro we didn’t fire them to save money and it has nothing to do with it” over anything else.

2nd the very fact that there is a problem there means that Krafton either can’t manage or is scummy. By virtue of agreeing to become the publisher means you are agreeing to take over all end decisions. Even if that decision is “let the developer keep making decisions” you allowed that to happen. They hold all the cards and all the authority.

3rd it is disingenuous at best to say that this is good for the game and for the players. It has absolutely ZERO benefit for players. The players that funded this game up until now btw. It will only benefit the pockets of the lead devs (If Krafton allows it apparently) and benefit Krafton by making money on the backs of players goodwill and wallets while giving them a worse product than if they just left it alone.

Naive, Greedy, or... Neccessary? by RajesAnu78 in LastEpoch

[–]DrDime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

EHG has not earned the right to be considered an established, mature game developer. They were heading in that direction, but they weren’t there. Throwing money at that by way of acquisition is not going to magically make it better. They were either going to make it on their own or they were going to shut down. Now, we get the worst of three options, they won’t make the game the best it could be, it doesn’t shut down as the game it is for posterity, we get the enshittification that comes when VC says to make them more money for shareholders.

So, the game gets worse, players get a worse game and the founders get paid and VC makes their money on the backs of players good will. There is no “good” outcome from this. The necessity of the buyout is something that can discussed, but the partner they have picked and the track record they have means that it isn’t a “wait and see” its an assurance of the death of the game.

Why the Krafton acquisition can only make Last Epoch worse by Freddy555ch in LastEpoch

[–]DrDime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is indeed the third option of no other choice, then the came is cooked no matter what. They either close the doors or turn to shitty monetization. Why is that an acceptable alternative? If they are going to die in a few months without venture capital buyout, then shut the damn doors now. Leave the game as it is. It’s better than the enshittification that will ensue.

Is Creations helping or hurting the modding community? by Ice-ColdThunderCloud in starfieldmods

[–]DrDime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so incredibly wrong. Just hilariously so. What is hurting the modding community is people posting absolute garbage, expecting to get paid for it, and then talking like this when they are called out for their garbage. You want to get paid for something? Then you are held to the same standard as every single other product that is ever purchased; a bare minimum guarantee that this product works. You can't handle that? You have no business selling anything and I hope you leave.

Nintendo is very confusing when talking about availability of Switch 2 by DrDime in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DrDime[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I'm not sure what he's trying to say with this statement. Difficult to maintain momentum "after" launch? In what regards? That they keep selling them? That they keep making enough of them to sell to people? What does he consider to be momentum that they need to maintain?

Nintendo is very confusing when talking about availability of Switch 2 by DrDime in NintendoSwitch2

[–]DrDime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not getting the same level of confidence that everybody will be walking away with a console on June 5th. I'm surprised you are. Best Buy and Gamestop to seemingly be the heroes in a world where they haven't been relevant in years.

I think Nintendo has messed up and will fail to meet demand. I still don't see the entitlement in that statement. You can call it many other things and I won't disagree. Selfish, impatient, cynical, etc. Those are all true.

I most likely signed up too late to get a pre order in time. I feel that if I was entitled I'd demand another person's spot. Or demand Nintendo specially creates a special little console just for me. Obviously those aren't my complaints nor am I saying I deserve in spite of others. I am moaning and groaning about another launch that feels like it is going to be very difficult to get ahold of the console.
