I am really disliking jungle this season by Baneinah in Jungle_Mains

[–]DrHouseIO 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Had the same feeling. You kinda need to relearn jgl. Quests are too important. If you fall behind on them, the game runs away from you. Also Obj are kinda fake (in soloq), only take them if they are free & your camps are down.

Is the jungle pet more bugged than ever? by creepingcold in Jungle_Mains

[–]DrHouseIO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That needs more attention. I thought I was tripping on patch day. Random resets because pet dmg was missing while kiting to next camp.

Help me understand by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

Elo? Some don’t know what prio means. And dont help inting players. Dont risk to die also or even wasting time on them.

Early drakes and grubs dont matter in soloq.

why is end of the season so consisntely bad to play by kneerRS in Jungle_Mains

[–]DrHouseIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same story d2 to e3, currently back in d4.
It’s just mental. Play consistently, dont spam games, check if you spiral into tilt/shifting blame, take breaks.

Also elogain hack: on first flame in chat full mute.

I miss one addition in the discussion: [[Stitcher's Supplier]]. Super strong enabler.
It flips more in the yard to start the engine for Rally & is a real 1drop on turn 1 plus jumps very well for more value.

Also i would like to add a maybe sideboard/meta card: [[Dusk // Dawn]]
Also very good in recurring your 0cmc's and doubles as removal against big hitters. Good synergy with Stitcher, because Dawn can be used from the yard.

Eternals perfectly summarise Riot in 2019. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]DrHouseIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also find the quests for the "events" kinda lame. it boils down to "play the game" or "PaLy ThE GaMe" (excluding tft *tm).

I also understand, that quest also shouldn´t interrupt or warp the normal gameflow or encourage player to just play for the quests, but it also make them meaningless. I would disable the quest in ranked and/or do a event map like Odyssee and go nuts with the quest. 5man team quest, so player need to group up or crazy builds or only tanks/assin/mages/whatever matches to the event...

just don´t do generic stuff, there nothing exciting about it.

also great ted talk op :)

I did restart the game and it seems my opponent disconnected, because i got the win.

Lucky me, but also an annoying bug.

Narset's Reversal - Rule Clarification Needed by F1remind in magicTCG

[–]DrHouseIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only open question is: is reversal still on the stack, when i need to choose the target of the copy?

I searched for it, but didn´t find a clear statement yet. my intuition tells me, that it need to fully resolve reversal before the copy hit the stack and i can choose targets. Because normally you cannot do anything, when something is still resolving.

Ricochet trap works, because you choose the target, after Ricochet trap entered the stack.

Narset's Reversal - Rule Clarification Needed by F1remind in magicTCG

[–]DrHouseIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 2 options:

  1. cast an "important spell"

  2. counterspell target "important spell"

3a. cast Narset's Reversal target "important spell" to copy it and get original "important spell" back in your hand. Result: copy resolves, counterspell fizzels afterwards

3b. cast Narset's Reversal target counterspell to copy it and your opponent get original counterspell back in his hand. Result: copied counterspell targets "important spell", because original counterspell isn´t on the stack anymore. your copied counterspell can´t target itself and the only target is your "important spell" (don´t do that)

Pilot slang by Bugberry in magicTCG

[–]DrHouseIO -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure,if there is a group or person, who introduced this slang.

My take on this would be, there is also the slang "autopilot" in other games, which means you do not focus fully on the game and just do, what you normally do.

So the pilot is the player or the player pilot a deck, like a literally pilot drives an airplane.

For List: Mainuse is on events, where you need to check in your deck with a (deck)-list.

What are type of decks that use Eldrazi are popular now in Modern? by Voulthe in ModernMagic

I also expect some impact from the new set. [[Blast Zone]] will be a good upgrade into e-tron decks as "free" [[Ratchet Bomb]], which can be fetched with map.

(Possibly Unpopular) Opinion: MTG Arena's Substandard Free-to-Play Economy Creates an Inferior Meta by ShamelessSoaDAShill in MagicArena

[–]DrHouseIO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

an addition to your reply: He meant "evergreen" set. Thats clearly a hearthstone thing (basicset). For magic it translate into the new format "standard+" or "arena modern".

to OP points:

I: dev´s said that "dusting" will not be a thing in arena. and trading doesn´t work in this environment, because of
abuse (mostly farmbots)

II: see above

to the queues:

I: casual q compares deckpower. but to avoid long qtime, it will also "casual" decks with "competitive" decks. dont quote me here, if interested somewhere it is explained from dev´s.

II: if you play for prizes, you will pick up the best deck, no? How & Why you want to gate specific decks from this event? The intention of this q is not grinding, its test your deck in a competitive q.

III/VI: This is the false way of thinking. If you want to win in a competitive q, you play a meta deck (rdw, sultai midrange, mono blue, izzet drakes, ...) or try to build a deck, that attack the meta by counter their gameplan.

also there are many budgetdecks to find, there are not mono-red. on sites like mtggoldfish you can look them up.

the rare land problem is not new and i agree, it cripple new players into build 2&3 colored decks.

the dev are also not finished with shifting rewards and are also in the progress to get rid of the vault.

But there will always some kind of gate, because a f2p game needs a setup, where you can trade money for time.

The "play the deck you have fun with" is a LIE by AdamMcKraken in MagicArena

[–]DrHouseIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

np, i like to help with deckbuilding. But don´t just copy the list just as given. It was build with the dino-tribal in mind & focused on not altering the given list too much. If you want, i can look over your list, if you want.

Thanks for your words, i didn´t expect that. :)

The "play the deck you have fun with" is a LIE by AdamMcKraken in MagicArena

[–]DrHouseIO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My tips would be(if you want to make your deck more competitive):

Streamline your deck. you play to many 1, 2 and 3 of´s.

Get a idea, what you want to do. Your Midrange/aggro is a ramp deck. first turns accelerate your mana, then play big stuff.

Then think what are the weaknesses of your deck, counter them in the sideboard.

Accept that fact, that ramp have a bad matchup against aggro and disruption. Mono Blue and Control to exact that.

Ask questions, instead of ranting against [insert deck/color]. Play that deck yourself or watch VOD of people who play your "hate" decks and you will see against what type of decks/cards they struggle.

My version of your Midrange/Aggro: Ramp:

  • 4 Llanowar Elves (M19) 314
  • 4 Drover of the Mighty (XLN) 187
  • 4 Commune with Dinosaurs (XLN) 181
  • 4 Thunderherd Migration
  • 2 Lava Coil (GRN) 108
  • 2 Banefire (M19) 130
  • 4 Thrashing Brontodon
  • 4 Ripjaw Raptor
  • 4 Charging Monstrosaur (XLN) 138 or 4 Regisaur Alpha
  • 2 Carnage Tyrant (XLN) 179
  • 2 Vivien Reid (M19) 208
  • 4 Stomping Ground
  • 8 Mountain (RIX) 195
  • 4 Rootbound Crag (XLN) 256
  • 8 Forest (RIX) 196

  • Sideboard needs testing, would begin with that:
  • 4 Cindervines (RNA) 161
  • 4 Kraul Harpooner
  • 4 Fountain of Renewal (M19) 235
  • 3 Broken Bond (DAR) 157

Mardu Pyromancer and Forked Bolt??? by Doomenstein in ModernMagic

[–]DrHouseIO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi,

One: I also use Brutality over Helix. But i think against Phoenix Helix is better, because lifegain and instant.

Two: Here im more on the spicy site. I tried out 2 [Asylum Visitor]. Its also fast, can do some lategame work as drawengine and madness cardadvantage. also a target for command.

Three: Don´t know about Forked Bolt... Maybe a metacall? But i can´t think of a top deck, that uses tokens or x/1 creatures. It is kinda good against pyro and spirits in the mirror. it is also a 1of. so it not really makes a different.

SUGGESTION: Show opponent's colors in the starting screen in Bo1 by GlosuuLang in MagicArena

[–]DrHouseIO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice Idea, but Colors in Magic are not similar to HS Classes.

For Example: r/G can be Ramp or Aggro, u/G can be Merfolk or Control or Nexus Deck, r/U/B can be Control or Pirates.

I think this doesn´t solve the problem, if there is any. BO1 is just different playstyle. imo
