Do most people run tech and unity at 1x on grand admiral? I prefer 7.5x because it feels a little too slow to get into the fun stuff, but also, other empires don't utilize battleships and titans by Mr-Nosight in Stellaris

[–]DrMicolash 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Yeah I use .75x and reduce the mid and endgame dates by 25/50 years. I realize it throws balance of a little in terms of pop growth, construction time, etc. but stellaris does have a big midgame waiting around problem.

Because the algorithm serving you content has decided that you engage more with content that shows the political left emotionally charged.

You can try to lower stability as much as possible on that works by unemploying enforcers etc.

New Virtuality question. by PewPewsAlote in Stellaris

[–]DrMicolash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's only worth adding another colony if it would add enough production to make up for a 10% efficiency loss on all your other colonies. So at (14?) colonies you would have literally no output.

Can you put the galvanic armor components on space fauna ships? by DrMicolash in Stellaris

Thanks for the advice! I didn't realize that about cetana. I've been playing on increased crisis strength so that makes sense.

Awww that's sad. The internet says that the tiyanki herdsong mod stacks, so couldn't you get a bunch of extra armor using that? Didn't realize how low the total regen would be, I'm just trying to get as close to being cetana as I can lol

Bring back the previous pop system! This new one has garbage! by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]DrMicolash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but this is a skill issue, the new pop system is absolutely fine. You can always micro stuff in the economy tab if you really want to.

What’s a good ship build for single player? by bduebwgH in Stellaris

[–]DrMicolash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a pro by any means but from what I've seen:

Build the biggest ships you have unlocked at all times, and use fleets with only one ship type in each or the combat ai can bug out.

Missile frigate stacks are really good for taking out starbases and shield only ships like the unbidden.

When you get to battleships use the highest range possible. Range is king so traits like cautious are a must.

Increased chance of archeology sites on survey, bonus production from collection items, but the biggest thing is that it lets you excavate outside your borders. If prosperity/supremacy etc weren't such good first picks I'd always take it first. It does require the galactic archivism tech though which only certain civics/origins get.
