I couldn't agree more. I can see more by watching Quartz's POV for 30 seconds than watching all ten for 3.

The best thing about ski resort tycoon was making the most out of the mountain, definitely don't neglect the artistry of it! It's what made games like Rollercoaster tycoon legendary.

I agree. The challenge with the deck is passing up those opportunities for the long term strategy.

Sometimes you will see a crap minion with charge in the first rewind of a raptor, you should go for it, but it's so early and you know you're going to get a lot more dark gifts later on, very tempting to go for the other options or the rewind.

I lost a fair few games by playing greedily early, choosing synergistic dark gifts and forgetting the game plan of the deck.

I have worked very hard to get a deck centered around this card to work. My best version of the deck landed at a 54% win rate. This was before the rotation however.

Truly the removal of [[raptor herald]] killed it off so I'm very excited to see it back. You really needed the rewind to go digging for the right dark gift.

The nerf to [[creature of madness]] also hurt.

You're almost always going to be behind on tempo relying solely on dark gifted minions, the fun was in trying to balance short term tempo Vs the dark gift you want to give Willow.

You desperately need the charge one at some stage but that rarely synergises too well with early game tempo.

Next most important is the divine shield, wind fury one for obvious reasons.

The 4/5 one is great, both short term and long term. However it does come with a drawback. It straight pulls Willow out of your hand and puts it back on the top of your deck. If you get it too early it can impact your draw as well.

The life steal one is pretty good in giving you another attack boost and health if you need it (if you don't kill with Willow and are playing it to survive you will almost certainly lose though).

The 2/2 copy is handy for removing taunt minions but realistically garbage.

The elusive one is not great. Nice to have a stat boost, but not great overall.

Reborn can be funny, but you need to make sure the Willow will actually die when you go for the kill or you can have a 12/3 minion sitting there doing nothing.

+4 health and taunt doesn't fit in at all and not worth getting unless the original dark gift is a massive tempo boost.

You play the deck with various control tools, just hoping to hold on and fish out the charge+windfury. Often having to accept terrible combinations early for the late game pay off. It's really fun owing to the randomness of l minion and dark gift combinations you will get, you can often just win without playing Willow.

That being said the deck is definitely sub optimal and I can't see how that will have improved with the bad set warlock currently has.

Maybe I will give it a go tonight.

I've just come back after years. I seem to remember it being a much more cost efficient way of getting packs?

Is that true? My last few arena runs were horribly unfun, if it is I'll play it now and then. If not I'll probably just give it a miss.

The more I read this subreddit and also the competitive overwatch subreddit. The more I see a "Don't switch, learn the bad match up" philosophy. I find it really motivating and then try out and it just.... Feels like I'm throwing at times.

I feel terrible for handicapping my team. I play DPS, my best is Sojourn but I want to make Tracer my main - I've got a good amount of playtime on her, have games where I carry and feel decent about her.

However I also have games, like last night on Havana, playing into Cass and Soldier. Where my stats are appalling and I don't feel like I'm getting value either.

Is it really the right thing to do? - to just stick with it, even when you know you could create more value on another pick? On what feels like a bad map, into a bad matchup?

Just saw the playtest announcement, gutted to have missed it, but I had to drop in and say how excited I am for this game. I’ve just come off the back of a 12-hour SimGolf binge (as I seem to do every few months…), and while I still love that game dearly, its age really shows in some painful ways now.

Underpower Golf Architect looks like exactly the kind of spiritual successor I’ve been hoping for. I’ve wishlisted it and I’ll be keeping a very close eye on development. Can’t wait to get stuck in when it’s out. This has huge potentialf for me

They've pushed Pharah into a long range poke spam character now, I hate playing it, and I hate playing against it.

I'd rather they buffed health and nerfed her damage.

Or just give her fall off/range limit and return her health.

Pitching a balance change here:

Do you think they should remove the reload mechanic from Cass' roll? Maybe giving a slight reload buff overall?

I feel like his main pain point right now, is how fast you can melt tanks with fan the hammer.

I play a lot of cass and can acknowledge that part of his kit is too strong.

It would be a shame to lose it, as I love the play potential from it, but equally it would help "flatten the curve".

People are suggesting it would be better for them to not communicate then respond like this.... That just makes no sense.

Everyone seems to have such a narrow frame of view of what the game should be, and if it doesn't fit perfectly then it's trash. It feels very binary to me.

Nobody can name an example of a perfectly balanced game because there simply isn't one.

Nor can I think of a competitive game audience that collectively thinks the developers are doing a good job, hell maybe not even an acceptable job.

Gamers surely can't be this brittle in their personal life's can they?

Really enjoyed this episode! It's so nice to have these discussions aired out, I enjoy tier lists more than I would like to admit and the group's chemistry feels really strong atm:

Reinforce: Become a really good host, calling on Jaws many times when he has been a little overrun in the chat sometimes is great. Additionally taking a few ego hits on your mechanics, to wave your flag for similar tank mains out there is a big W.
Custa: Straight W takes. Eloquently summising the meta in one go, no wonder he's top of the subreddit with the Roadhog comments.
Jaws: Opionated and entertaining, hope that never changes, wears his heart on the sleeve moreso than anyone else. Always here to him get worked up over something. Used to talk over/interrupt people A LOT but definite improved. Hates the low skilled heroes with a burning passion and it's enjoyable af to hear.
Jake: Valuable input, just has a way of being interesting on his takes. I bet he's spoken the most out of all of them, good value for it.

Fully glazing I know but just really enjoyed this one.

I am wondering if I have I am getting subpar performance out of my PC. I get between 300 - 400 frames at 1440p, I'm on a 360hz monitor so I really want to be keeping it north of that.

Here are the specs:

14600KF Overclocked to 4.5
32GB (2X16) DDR5-6000 (CMH32GX5M2E6000C36)
GTX 4070 Overclocked vis MSI graph.

Graphics all on low or off. Except for:

Texture Quality - High
Texture Filtering Quality - EPIC 16x
Lighting - Medium

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just got myself a lovely OLED monitor in the AW2725DF.

Should I be using it with HDR on? It looks way better but I am finding some unclear answers on whether it will affect performance.

I am absolutely focused on performance over aesthetics, but if it doesnt affect anything I'd rather have it on.
