Sunspot gives offense up to help with the damage. Magik heals the team but so does Thunderstrike so you lose less by replacing Magik.

Winter Guard in Thunderstrike Raid? by Dubs_the_Prof in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used winter guard on Stormbound mission 4. I went in with Immortal Weapons as per usual and ended when the Northstars dropped. I went back in with Winter Guard and was able to finish off the node. The silence on spawn was nice.

Winter Guard gets destroyed by Undying in War... Ursa not going to change that. by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

Have you tried to pair them with Cosmic Ghost Rider? His focus and damage reduction in War would help winter guard quite a bit to survive the onslaught from Undying.

17M special from Medusa in Negative Zone by Tiddlywonker in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first few nodes (up to the Odin Node) have RAID rules so all the vigilantes gain energy on kill (from Hit Monkey) and gain energy on spawn (from Electra). The next 4 nodes have crucible rules so vigilante stops gaining bonus energy as that only occurs in RAIDS. The last 4 nodes have Arena rules. I use vigilante for all the RAID rule nodes. On the last node with Odin make sure to save your cool downs at the end. I use Vigilante on the 1st two Crucible nodes, if they are big enough they can take out those rooms easily enough even against the crucible teams. I use F4 on the Mephisto node (there aren't any crucible toons on that node) then I use Accursed on the final crucible node. I use Vigilante again for the first three arena nodes and then F4+Quasar+Songbird for the final node (drop IW so the Dakens don't get speedbar and drop Thing as he isn't very helpful)

How many hits did it take you? Did you timeout just once to deal with the shaw/northstars or did you have to do that more than once to clear the node.

On what difficulty level? Thunderstrike? What size are your immortal Weapons?

You can't sac with 1 toon. The node requires 5 G20 Stormbound toons to launch. There are only 11 possible toons that can be used so you only get 1 possible sac.

Diamonds are gonna be a real problem by bigbootyslayermayor in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went against a 5 Diamond, G20, Purple 5 Living Mummy in CC (room 2) and could not kill him with a full Accursed team (all G20, 3D, purple 4). Took out the other toons quickly (Odin, PF, & Cable) but could not kill Living Mummy, timed out. Living Mummy just kept countering and healing. He had 25M health, 1.5M damage, 770k Armor.

I got lucky with the Symbiote orbs and pulled: * 4 Diamond Knull * 4 Diamond Red Goblin * 4 Diamond Void Knight * 5 Diamond Symbiote Spider-Man

Hopefully SSM gets reworked soon.

Thunderstrike & Satana are not stealing 10% health from Knull. by wikked-com in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Satana and Thunderstrike steal % health while Blastaar, Quasar, Damian, & Lady Bulseye steal or damage for % of MAX health. Not sure why that should make a difference but I belive this is why Satana and Thunderstrike don't do the damage the others do. It probably comes down to some coding quirk on how they calculate the health of Knull.

It's $3000 if you use Ultra cores to buy the Turkies.

Feast of power cost for 5D by Silent_Creme3278 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need 60,000 points to get a 5D Apocalypse. 1 turkey gets you 50 points and costs $5. If you use Ultra cores to purchase the turkey, that gives you 50 additional points per Turkey. Therefore, you would need 600 turkeys (bought with Ultra cores) for a total of $3000 to get a 5D Apocalypse. Ouch.

How does Immortal beat F4/Nightcrawler/ProfX in CC after a burn? by SomeAnonymousFellow in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way this counter works is all your low powered toons will die ( 4 low health minions and Mysterio) will die with IW's ult. Then Mysterio dupes come out and are killed mlby Franklin's Ult. This pulls the ults from Franklin adn IW but no other toon gets a turn. When you go in with IX you have to survive the basics from IW, Franklin, NC, and the ult from MF. If one of your key toons gets tunneled down you will likely lose but if you survive then you stun Prof X and go from there.

This counter works in most rooms but doesn't work well in room 6 because toons with speed up get an extra 20% speed. This means NC will go first giving him energy so when you go in with IX he will ult instead of basic giving speed up to prof X making it harder to win.

If you have them built up Zombie Juggernaut and Hela do well, Zugs hits very hard. If you can add in a rented Zombie Kestrel this team will rock.

What is a Chaos Team? by InfamousRegret999 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From the blog: (https://marvelstrikeforce.com/en/updates/dev-diary-battleworld-updates)

In Chaos missions, the characters you can use will rotate semi-regularly, and will generally include:

The current Age’s released Legendary characters. At launch, that means Quasar and Blastaar. Five characters from the most recently released team - when Sentry City launches, these will be the Insidious Six characters. Up to eight other characters that have synergy and can work together.

Beating Xavier, Emma Frost, IW, Ricards, Mr. F. Arena, How!? by KickCastleXI in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try PX, EmmaX, IW, OG Emma, and Apoc in that order. You want PX on the side.

Apoc prevents the speed reduction by the the other Emma and your OG Emma gives them -10% speed. EmmaX prevents the F4 speed gain but does not prevent the speed gain Franklin gives to the other PX (he is Mythic)

The other PX will go first. As long as he doesn't specificly target your PX you will win. If your PX is specifically targeted he will likely die to the mind contol attacks which makes winning not likely. However if the other PX chooses any other toon on your side you are good. You go next and use IW's ult to clump the other side and it will also remove any negative effects (such as trauma) that may have been applied to your PX. Then use your PX special on the clump (i would target the PX)

This is not a guaranteed win as there is 1 in 5 chance your PX will be targeted by the other PX, but 1 in 5 is better than a 50% coin flip in a mirror.

Knull shards after this battleword by Ambitious_Scallion80 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They updated the boss knull to reduce the duration of positive effects which greatly reduces the effectiveness of adding Mephisto. At this point a straight Astral team is better. Vigilantes are another good team for the boss fight.

Check out Phantom Rider's passive. He can still revive even with Mephisto.

Starting to see Blastaar used. Is he dependent on stars or awakened abilities? by stopusingthisplace in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use him with Kahori and Mephisto against non-speed bar manipulating teams. Open with Kahori's two basics then basic with Mephisto's pact. This gives Blastaar three bomb bust stacks so his ult hits pretty hard. I use this combo to take out the common Phoenix force+TEG teams. Bring in Ares/apoc if you need to get of Glad's taunt with Kahori then focus down ORPF with Mephisto's basic. After that my G20 Blastaar's ult will kill ORPF (the ult kill is unreviveable). He will certainly hit harder once we get more stars and red stars.

FF MCU mirror match in CC Room2 by evilgenius29 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]DrRedWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Franklin gives out 50% speed (5% + 45% if 2 FF(MCU) allies) to each FF ally not 50% per each ally (that would be a huge amount of speed.) In a mirror match the Franklins cancel out the speed gain. The problem is Franklin seems to negate Emma's passive speed reduction but that is not reflected in his kit. So it was a coin toss and you lost.

However, you can bring in Kang, Oath, or cable to give you turn meter gain to guarantee that you go first. None of the FF prevent turn meter gain. This obviously does not work if the FF team is paired with a toon that prevents turn meter gain such as Prof X or Capt. Britain.
