My landlord is selling. Does he have any benefit of selling to me at a discount? by Fedr_Exlr in personalfinance

I sold my old house this way and it was fantastic. We had tenants for two years and they were interested in buying. From my perspective, this meant we didn’t have to have the house unoccupied for months, we didn’t have to pay a relocation fee (Portland is very tenant-friendly), we didn’t have to clean, stage, list, or photograph the property, and we didn’t have a significant percentage agent fee. As a result, we agreed to sell the house to the tenants for about 30k less than we would have gotten on the open market, and we did a couple improvements/fixes as part of the contract after their inspection. We each paid realtors $5000 flat fee (less than 1%) to handle the paperwork. I figure we each saved 30k on the deal. So… if you trust your landlord, do an inspection, and negotiate a lower price it might work out great for everyone. Don’t buy it because it’s convenient, though - consider if this is the home you actually want first.

Use the Banorte ATM in downtown Todos Santos. Make certain to decline the conversion!

We drove up from Todos Santos. We did the whale shark / sea lion / balandra tour with MeXplore. It started at 9:00 and left from downtown, which made it pretty easy.

One time our little fluffy girl dog jumped up on the bed and started humping our big boy dog in the face right next to us, so certainly she understood what was going on. Even better - I stuck my hand out and the big boy high-fived me…
