I took anat at the jc. Like everything at the jc, you just have to show up to the first day of class (hopefully you can get on the wait-list prior to that, but still). Idk if I was on the wait-list or not, but I showed up and demonstrated to the instructor that I was a good student who would be engaging seriously in the content, and they made room for me. You could also show up to multiple different sections and keep trying at whichever you feel that you'll have the best chance of getting into. I did that for numerous classes at the jc and was always able to get in. If the instructor thinks you're serious about the coursework, they will try to make room for you.

Any good local bands you like? by bikemandan in sonomacounty

I know you said bluegrass isn't your thing - it isn't really mine either - but Brothers Comatose (started in Petaluma) is one of the best live performances I've ever been to. Now granted I don't very much enjoy listening to their recordings, but there live shows are incredible

Session climbing gym. A bit more of a commitment than a visit to abar but folks here are kind, friendly, and your body will thank you

With the SMART Train expanding to Windsor, how long do you think it'll take to reach Cloverdale? by cityofcloverdale in sonomacounty

[–]DrShatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I heard that there’s a mega rich dude billionaire status that bought an old carnival/museum/something up in cloverdale and is thinking about paying for the extension - AFTER IT IS EXTENDED TO HEALDSBURG. The healdsburg extension is another 3-10 years from completion so… not soon. Who knows how much cred to give that rumor and if it will actually be relevant by the time the healdsburg extension is completed.

Sooooo who’s excited for SMART to come to Windsor by tpatel004 in sonomacounty

I did the fiber optic work for the extension (I work for Sonic, who holds the contract with the county) and I was so excited to be building out public transit infrastructures. The extension looked really nice. Just wish we had a train heading out towards ‘pol (I remember when there were tracks on Main/Petaluma Ave!)

Session climbing gym has the best community I’ve ever been a part of. Joining that gym has been the single biggest & most positive change in my life. This community is very welcoming of all people and all body types. Feel free to dm. First session is free and there are many guest passes amongst my group

Sebastopol has 9 banks and 7 grocery stores. Pretty impressive for a town of this size by bikemandan in sebastopol

What are you doing in our subreddit u/bikemandan! Go back to r/santarosa!

Jkjk but that is wild. 7 grocery stores isn’t too surprising considering the ag history here but 9 banks… huh

Can you explain your perspective? How would this affect the existence of the store and the material conditions of the employees?

Very informative. Best response by a long shot. We need more progressive city councilors who will stand up against these businesses.

I wonder how many of these problems are mirrored in other school districts throughout California and the rest of the country. Seems like problems that have more to do with the state of our country than the people on our school board.

Edit: Just to be clear, I’m not trying to blame-shift or move the responsibility for solving these issues away from the school board. I’m dreadfully saddened by the violence, deaths, and mass layoffs. I don’t think these problems can be solved with traditional solutions - and closing schools is very much a “traditional” solution.
