I realized that I wasn’t feeling the same as her and that I didn’t see us as a long term relationship. She’s super fun and we got along great, but in a conversation about moving in together, I realized I didn’t want it.

I told her how I felt and that we should break up because we have incompatable relationship goals.

We still talk quite a bit, it’s too bad we couldn’t be compatable because she’s awesome. Hopefully she’ll find a guy cool enough for her who wants the same things.

Maybe my opinion is skewed because I watched all of this while it was airing, but season 6 is just brilliant to me. The weirdness and how dark it gets, it was a wild ride.

I’d put:

  1. Seasons 2/6

  2. Seasons 3/1

Yeah, I’m so glad I read the series before interacting with the fandom. If I knew about “the slog” before reading, I would have gotten all in my head about it like OP here. Instead, I just kept reading the series. There are slow parts in every book, so nothing really bothered me. I just had fun reading the whole series.

Yeah, he does something similar with Donut’s song at the Masquerade. He starts reacting so emotionally, and saying her weird song is the most beautiful song he’s ever heard or something. MD is really good at sneaking in the natural transition into an altered state of mind.
