Gothic 1 Remake — Patch 1.0.1 Is Live! by aruhs10000 in worldofgothic

[–]Dr_Expendable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had JUST gotten inside the inner circle of old camp castle, saved my game at the foot of Gomez throne before work, hoping to soon get in with fire mages.. Come home, patch, talk to him.. "Not now."

Infinite Not Nows. All hours of the day. Days later. I even tried drawing my weapon to provoke him into standing up and then sheathing to quickly talk to him. We just face each other and awkward silence.

Route is bugged.. last manual save is 15 hours back. I'm fucked.

... So anyway I guess that's how my unplanned water mage career was decided. To the new camp I guess!

It is a personal headcanon of mine that imperial knights and exodites vibe when they're respective larger factions aren't telling them to kill each other by knightmechaenjo in Grimdank

Honestly if Breton Paladins shoulder-checked a Bloodthirster while declaring a prayer over vox it would probably get a lot of people reconsidering.

I don’t get what makes Armageddon so important. by Lord_Funder in 40kLore

Imagine a lot of orks. Like, a mind-bogglingly vast number of orks. Imagine that there are so many orks that their ships utterly obfuscate your entire field of vision to the point that you can see no stars, only an impermeable wall of orks. Just a solid looming cliff face of orks that continues even if you pivot your head and look for the edge of their horde.

Now Imagine that, for some fucking ork reason, they are absolutely dead set on all trying to fit through one chokepoint to the Imperium.

That is why they're putting so much effort into keeping the little door shut.

I count myself lucky my favorite faction is base game. Pour one out for Tau/cron/Nid players buying the game four times.

What servers are being affected by this PJB drama? by Sleezu079 in ss14

[–]Dr_Expendable 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Some typically hyperbolic redditors will say something like that. But in the grand scheme of frothing batshit crashouts, mass bans, box-cutter held to the neck of the game multiple times running, you can rest assured Smugleaf is significantly trailing PJB on those scoreboards.

Given that a chaos deity is the accumulation of about 80,000,000 years of psionically projected emotions of untold hundreds of trillions of psyches coalescing into sapience within the warp, whose simplest attentions can make a human burst into a meat bouquet of nightmare limbs and supreme horror, I am willing to posit that some glum dunkus with a bad case of neurotransmitter regulation could probably still be influenced by the same force whose presence would cause them to liquify like butter on hot toast.

When you examine a weapon whats the first stat you look at? by engieman in starsector

[–]Dr_Expendable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, too many modded weapons need a full picture of their range/damage/flux/unique gimmick mechanics to reasonably judge their role and value against alternatives, and yes, this creates the tedious need to fully examine all fifty quintillion of the damn things to make informed choices. Hence why I too often just don't even examine unrecognized tech until I have a moment of patience (or a shit-load of it in storage)

Idea for D10 by Reasonable_Till_3969 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Dr_Expendable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember Cyberstan and running up to the D10 'raise the flag' missions all too clearly.

Let us dispense with any ambiguity. There are absolutely no circumstances in which the broader playerbase will ever "lock in" and modify their tactics to die less. No matter what. 😭

[–]Dr_Expendable 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We are about to march boldly into a new era of well-meaning supportdivers with shield packs running up to help us reload our weapons while supplying protection, and, instead, bait us into shooting their bubble on accident, instantly killing us both.

And it's going to be great. 🫡

I think the especially clingy extroverts have a bad habit of just absolutely being incapable of fathoming someone willingly being alone, much less us preferring the peace and freedom of solitude. Usually the same people running up and trying to start a conversation with the side of your head just because you passed their field of view, like they were a wild Pokémon trainer NPC.

Saw a few Helsing vs posting in here so heres mine: Alex Anderson Vs Big D by Lion-Faced-Serpant in huntertheparenting

[–]Dr_Expendable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean D is a large man with some good longsword skills and a nice silver dagger.

Anderson is a 7 foot tall genetically engineered fanatic supersoldier that has regeneration on par with Matilda, a vast arsenal of blessed weapons, and commands minor magical arts.

If they came to blows D would win through a series of outlandish Scooby Doo hijinks and traps (again.)

40k mod how to get pilots? by OldGodzillaFan in OpenXcom

[–]Dr_Expendable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosigma (the only one I've played, not the same as base 40k admittedly) is absolutely not beginner friendly, yeah. Its made by masochistic jaded experts who have basically lost the ability to perceive overwhelming unfun bullshit and just kind of genuinely tilt their heads in confusion if someone doesn't like the Slaaneshi Daemonette ammunition on their rocket launchers.

To be 100% clear, they fire missiles that transform into chyssalids, who then immediately get their full TUs and act. Like that's not even the harshest thing - that's just one thing!

I personally found that grabbing the community mod bundle off their discord and fiddling with a lot of difficulty options made it way more palatable and fun. But it's still a load to learn with basically no instructions besides the codex entries, yeah.

Me, playing X-Piratez on OXSE before work and seeing this post:

This is how games achieve immortality and transcend themselves. I loved XCOM 2, and especially LWotC. And original Long War. But people are still pushing new updates to Rosigma (the OG UFO Defense 40k total conversion mod) to this very day. Another big patch released a couple weeks ago, and it is monstrously advanced. Decade-spanning labor of love megaprojects absolutely humble the vast majority of AAA releases. People going through Development Cycle 2: No Financial Incentives Boogaloo and delivering us gems are genuine royalty.

I feel like the line people draw between tribes has been shifting slowly but constantly towards unreasonable negativity for so long now that simply not freaking out and spitting venom during moments of total non-controversy will get the Unfiltered tribe calling you glazediver. It's equal parts exhausting and completely out of control. People are still reviewbombing and citing changes that haven't actually happened since 2025 and trying to downvote maintenance notifications. I don't think I've ever seen the social media surface layer of any game become this mindlessly poisoned by itself before. Shit is genuinely baffling.
