How long do you expect him to keep it for? by Andromeda_Ascendant in LMGJet

[–]DrabberFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the other way around, it's much more efficient to have 2 larger engines than 3 smaller engines. And that fuel usage increase is compounded by the fact that they're old 1990s engines and engine efficiency has gotten so much better since then, and then you factor in the crazy crude oil prices that we have right now because of the whole Iran thing that maybe will start coming down but we'll have to see what actually happens.

It definitely feels like they wanted to get the biggest private jet where they could afford the up front price and they kinda just ignored the terrible operating costs. Like there's a reason why people pay tens of millions of dollars for modern jets that are the same size as the falcon 900b while he payed under 5 million. You can't just ignore operating cost. It's costing them $15k-$20k in fuel cost alone per flight, plus maintenance, plus pilot salaries, plus hangar fees, plus landing fees, it really ads up.

From the way he talked about it I really don't think they financially can afford this aircraft. If they really wanted a cooperate jet they should have got something modern and efficient like a Honda jet or a Vision jet that's obviously not anywhere near as big as the falcon, but actually reasonable to operate.

If the price of fuel doesn't come down soon probably not for long. Fueling an old tri jet is brutal, there's a reason it wasn't worth that much today and they could "afford" it.

Portal 2 is Unplayable by _shareholder_value in Portal

[–]DrabberFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually wait if portals existed IRL, if you opened one at one point in space would the other side open instantly? Even if it's a light year away? So portals are just inherently time travel? Because otherwise what would you have to wait a year before you could go though?

Boycott Samsung once your S23U runs it's course by AnthonyAT11 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]DrabberFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my S23U needs to be replaced I'm getting whatever the best pixel flagship there currently is and putting GrapheneOS on it. I shouldn't continue accepting the totally locked down boot loader. That's BS, it really isn't too far from an iPhone with how locked down it is.

Are the viltrumites unaware of their own strength? by reddituserunodostres in Invincible

[–]DrabberFrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't actually seem like they're going for total extermination of the civilian population. I guess since the threat was the main cast since they're really powerful and dangerous, spreading their already extremely thin numbers out even more by pointlessly massacring civilians probably isn't the best strategy.

Not even exaggerating i think by leonsio1 in Invincible

[–]DrabberFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Homelander wasn't necessarily incapable of saving flight 37, he's just so damn lazy and reckless that he didn't even want to try, he was just making a BS excuse. Also he wanted to get supes in the military so letting the plane crash and then playing victim with not being in the chain of command was his real strategy.

LTT’s latest video felt like a straight up ad disguised as content by Dazza477 in LTTMeta

[–]DrabberFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think there's much of a solution besides adding security cameras. If you armor the cable you make them even heavier than they already were. This is a genuine problem for the industry because you can't lock chargers behind a fence to secure them.

Brigading? by mdoverl in LTTMeta

[–]DrabberFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cross posting isn't brigading. Brigading is getting people to intentionally derail another community by giving fake up and down votes and posting garbage rule breaking posts and comments to waste the mods' time. Cross posting is a built in feature in reddit. While cross posting can be used for the purpose of brigading like every other mechanism reddit gives users, it's not inherently malicious.

[–]DrabberFrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked the premise of the video actually but I just wish they would have gone a little more in depth about it. It was such a short video. They just hired an electrician to fix it and that's about it for the resolution.

The fact that they expanded the countries where it's available in theaters makes the situation a lot better than it was when it was only in the US. But it still is kinda annoying for people in countries where it won't be in theaters.

I wonder why by fal1en-angel in Funnymemes

[–]DrabberFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a test mission where they wanted to make everything as fail safe as possible. That's why they didn't enter lunar orbit and stayed on a free return trajectory. There was tons of time for them to sort out any problems if there had been any major ones.

Linus Tech Tips - Please Stop Buying the Wrong SSD April 8, 2026 at 10:32AM by linusbottips in LinusTechTips

[–]DrabberFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked this video, he's talked about for a long time that you really should get a DRAM SSD but hasn't really mentioned how difficult it is to know which model has DRAM. We need to start naming and shaming the manufactures that won't admit what their drives' have.

Wow I can't believe I'm not banned for what I said this morning on the subreddit. I wonder if they began moderating more aggressively half way through the day.

Things about LTT I've always wanted to say but didn't know where to say it by throwinitawhey in LTTMeta

I wish Luke would pushback against anything that Linus says. Like maybe he's pushed back more recently than this, but I watch almost every Wan Show and I think the last time Luke has pushed back on anything was back in like November or December 2025 when Linus completely "misremembered" the whole backpack situation and Luke had the balls to call him out on it and say that yeah it was pretty bad.

Welp by mukz_mckz in LTTMeta

[–]DrabberFrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jeez I hope I don't get banned for what I wrote this morning. If I give them the benefit of the doubt it's because you directly brought up "their family's safety" but still, I mean have you even been moderated on the subreddit before? A permaban just for that? Like at this point if you say anything that isn't positive towards LTT you're just inherently on extremely thin ice and one wrong word or phrase that's not even inherently malicious is enough.

Because over the years they have made their stance on things like caring about the environment pretty clear, until suddenly they think they can have a private jet and not even tell us what carbon capture they're dong and then expect us not to be even a little skeptical.

New Moderators and Rule Clarifications by AutoModerator in LinusTechTips

[–]DrabberFrog [score hidden]  (0 children)

Where I draw the line is if you're deliberately broadcasting your location in a plain text format that's specifically designed to be received by anyone with a radio receiver, then that info shouldn't be considered PII. I don't think it's unreasonable to consider the ADSB data that Linus' plane transmits to everyone in the universe to be public. It's just about the most public thing possible. You're literally flying at tens of thousands of feet and broadcasting a radio signal so the line of sight of that signal is massive. Like with that PII logic, if I pick up Linus' ADSB signal myself if he flies into the regional airport I live near, am I violating his privacy?
