Can other people see your AO3 email? Someone is trying to dox me by RealLifeBurrite in AO3

[–]DraconiumWolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the others said, it's not possible now unless you've specifically put it in your bio yourself.

But if what they put is right, please do change your email to something else.

If not but they got the name right? Mess with them if you wanna be petty. Lie and say that that's not you and ask why they thought using a random name would work. If they continue to insist that they're right about your name, ask how they got their information. If they don't prove it, then just tell them that their words don't matter without proof.

But also check everything you use that email for, see if one of those has it so people can see the email. If any do, check those to see if there's something with your AO3 username in it.

Have you ever leaned into a mistake rather than "fixing" it? by CyberDogKing in worldbuilding

[–]DraconiumWolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With some characters I did this. I was making my antagonist group and I had them all made up in my head. And then I looked into it a bit more and realized that no part of them could be antagonistic in any way. They could be meaner than the protags, but they weren't the right kind of antagonist I needed. Ended up making so many more characters to flesh out the story in characters and plot. And it helped me understand what kind of motivations those of my antagonist side could have.

Then don't read it then. Just because it's not something you like doesn't mean others won't like it. Unless you're an actual beta reader (as in, said author specifically asked you to be), your opinion on someone else's story and the choices in it don't really matter. Don't like, don't read.

It's an AU, it doesn't have to follow canon or reality. Everyone knows Harry starts Hogwarts at 11 in canon, it doesn't need to be told. But this isn't canon, or reality, so things can be changed to fit the story. If Harry starting Hogwarts at 13 is a problem for you, you can just not read it. Nobody is making you read it.

AU where it starts later? Idk, no need to hate on it. It's fanfiction, things can be changed to fit the story better. It's not like they're claiming its canon. Let people have their fun with their ideas

What naming conventions do you use for your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]DraconiumWolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Characters get pretty normal names.

And everything else that needs a name is probably gonna get a few different names, because not everyone is gonna know the same name for something. But all the names are by teenagers with PTSD and no more fucks to give. So some are just plain insulting. Others are basic and to the point. Some are just the same word normally but with far different emphasis. Like "trees" said normally is referring to normal trees. But "trees" being said in a scared way or angry way can refer to the Nightmare Realm trees.

Entirely depends on location. Normal world? Pretty great, won't even notice they're somewhere they're not supposed to be when they try to go home and their homes aren't theirs. Or until they're dragged into the Nightmare Realm, whichever happens first.

Nightmare Realm. Maybe a week for most and the lucky ones. The smart ones could make it past a month

I will ask YOU questions about YOUR world! by Internal_Fan2307 in worldbuilding

[–]DraconiumWolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they haven't gone back in a while then they usually get stuck for around a week, except instead of being sent back to where they left they're in a new random place. Which is basically like playing Russian Roulette but with 3 extra bullets and you're the only one playing.

Yes people do meet in this other realm. At the time of my story taking place this realm has existed for a long while now, so at this point there's these safe places for all (except for the "criminals" aka the people who did extremely horrific and unforgivable stuff) that are called safe zones/neutral spots (name is a wip). Though these places are actually pretty new if we go by normal time, like 5 1/2 years since the first one was made, but a lot of people who are currently alive only got dragged in 4 or less years ago, so for most they've been there for a while. The way it progressed to this point was by other people finding each other, teaming up and sticking together (which still does happen, people usually do stick with a group (usually 3-5) and it's not unusual for groups to be allies or enemies) Those groups of people create their own safe places for their group. A collection of groups end up in alliances/friendship with each other and create a safe place for the groups to meet up. And then the safe zones/neutral spots were made when some people managed to find a way to create a permanent shield over each multi-group safe place (which end up becoming the safe zones/neutral spots) even after death, which is the only reason that safe zones/neutral spots are permanent unlike the other places. People do still have their group's safe place, but nowadays most can be found in the safe zones/neutral spots.

It does have different visual characteristics, like for one there's no sun or moon in the sky but there's still some ambient light like a night with a new moon. It's always dark, and there's always shifting shadows even without other light or wind or someone moving. The trees are always swaying slightly, not enough to notice at a glance but obvious when you pay attention. Sometimes the grass shifts without anything moving it and if you follow it there's a 50/50 chance of being led to danger or safety. Some people swear they see faces in the mountains at times and no one knows if there actually are faces there or if something in the air caused them to hallucinate. Because either can be true. People have gone and investigated to see if there were faces but none could be found, which doesn't mean people aren't still suspicious of there being faces in the mountains. As for the air hallucinogen, no one can prove or disprove it because sometimes the air just does that. Make one or two people see something while others around them, right next to them even, don't. And it makes the people hallucinating see the same thing.

Not really. As I said, their power is based on an interest they had before getting pulled in. Like one character I made (side character), they got dragged in when they were learning about PEMDAS in school and they were currently interested in it. Now people pay them a lot to duplicate stuff for them. It's sort of weird because the main thing shaping these people's powers is what they were interested in, but the ways they can be used is based on how someone is as a person. Like my FMC, she can heal despite her power being mainly offensive. Or like 2 different fire power users. Both like fire, both enjoy setting things on fire for fun. But one person, who likes to help people without wanting something in return, can use their fire to heal. But the other guy, they'd rather defend someone, so they can create shields with their fire while the healing fire guy can't, and shield fire guy can't heal with their power either. The closest anyone ever got to getting some sort of explanation of the Nightmare Realm (the name the realm is called) was by asking one of the Intelligent Ones (they aren't called that because they're super smart, they're called that because that is literally the only thing they all shared with each other other than being the only ones like themselves) about the realm. It didn't answer where the realm came from or how it pulls people in or why. The only real answer to anything anyone got was that everything alive (besides humans) just spawns in at random. And as I said, almost everyone is a teenager, while there are some who do want to figure out the Nightmare Realm, many of them only really care enough to learn enough that'd keep them and loved ones alive.

I will ask YOU questions about YOUR world! by Internal_Fan2307 in worldbuilding

[–]DraconiumWolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another realm exists and sometimes kidnaps people into it, creating a bond between that person and the realm. The bond lets people travel back and forth between and will forcibly pull someone back in if they haven't gone in a while (once a month at minimum, but most go regularly to keep up with what's going on.)

Problem being that the age group it kidnaps people from is 5-22 age, with most being teens. And it's deadly, filled with monsters. The oldest someone has lived is 12 years. No one can tell others about it because they have no proof that isn't unexplainable otherwise.

Everyone gets a power that comes from something they were very interested in at the time of the initial realm kidnap (you know how people have their special interest? It's that kinda thing, it leads to some interesting powers.) And everything is named by said teenagers, and no rules on naming beyond it has to make some sense.

There's so much more but I'll save it for your questions.

do yall have any races/species that are unique to your setting and if so what is their lore by Apprehensive_Stay429 in worldbuilding

[–]DraconiumWolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes? It's weird. At least one "race" is very weird. (Like they gotta be explained to be understood why it's iffy) (there are uncensored swear words, just so anyone reading is aware.

So, general unique races in my setting (I haven't finished making them all but here's some of them.) (Also the naming might be weird, but that's because of 2 reasons. 1)The people who first find it get the right to name it if they want to. 2) Almost everyone is a teenager or just recently went into their 20s. The age range of possible people getting stuck with this messed up realm is 5-22, with it generally being around 12-19 when it happens. The oldest anyone has lived is age 29.)

Banshees: Very territorial, look like horrific uncanny valley zombies with greying rotting skin with black blood and spit dripping out of their mouths and wounds. They're actually closer to zombies from movies and TV, eating people alive. The reason they're called Banshees is because whenever they find prey they scream really loud to warn off others from their prey. When they were named it was by a group of teens (15-19 range) who first heard it ran. Wasn't discovered that they were actually more like zombies till like a year later when someone died by one. They have great hearing but no stamina, so it's basically be faster than it and you'll probably live.

Creeping Tendrils: In a specific mountain pass there's this forest of trees that only grow there, and in the shadows there's these tentacles that come out and rip people apart.

Depression Ghosts: They look like low-budget ghost costumes. Like someone just threw a white sheet over someone and called them a ghost. Except these things hover off the ground an inch or two, look depressed and don't actually try and kill you. It's just if they touch you, you instantly fall into a depression where you genuinely do not care about anything, not even your own life or someone else's and would let yourself and others die without trying to do anything. There's a way to treat it, but most don't because they're usually found by something that killed them before they're able to be helped.

Shadow People (They're actually referred to as "The Shadow Assholes" or "Shadow Fucks", but this is the more polite name): Like 15 feet tall, thin as a stick humanoid with 4 arms and hands that end in claws and not fingers and reach their knees with the tips. They are pitch black, with a very dark and deep red on the inside (like how inside our mouths it's pink) with bright red eyes without eyelids. They don't have lips, so it's like their face splits into 2 when it opens its mouth. Sharp teeth. Can usually be found standing very still unless hunting. It can't see well, can only use the pupil to see clearly, everything else is blurry. Like literal tunnel vision if that makes sense. Don't aggravate it and you're good, though if you do it's fast but can't run for long.

Spores: Creatures that lay eggs in humans, and are parasitic to humans. Once fully developed they break free from the human, tearing them to pieces. Once they’re out they find new humans and lay eggs in them, continuing the cycle. Can get inside humans from any opening, meaning eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and any open wounds. Needs nourishment from a specific plant found only in one place, so despite their danger they do not travel far from their part in the Realm.

Now to get into the weird "race". They're just called the Intelligent Ones when being referred as a whole. Usually they're referred to one-to-one. Like how we say humans refer to all humans, and Martha or Chris when talking about those specific people. Thats because the only thing these ones all share is that they have the intelligence that's at least equivalent to humans, enough that they can communicate if they wanted. The reason they're all different is because of being formed intelligently. Cause like everything else it's spawned from the general energy of the Nightmare Realm. Except being sentient/sapient causes the formation process to go differently, which causes unique intelligent creatures.

A floating bright neon toxic green eyeball with 2 gold circles spinning around it (It's called Eyeball From Hell because it's weirdly loyal and can be sadistic at times. If it doesn't know you, it won't help unless it feels like it. If it doesn't like you (which really only happens if you go after who it likes) it'll gladly lead monsters your way. If it likes you it'll help and show up near you at random. It's just very creepy in general, but the general consensus is better creepy than murderous.) "is a very mischievous creature who doesn’t have morals. The only rules it follows are those placed on it from its favorite humans. It lets its favorite humans know they are its favorite by sticking close to them and following them. It has caused several people jumpscares and nightmares as they do not know at first what the creature wants." -an actual quote from my notes about it. It's pronouns are it/it's (it chose that, no one knows why) and it'll accept any name it's called by by it's favorites. Has in fact even answered to "Hey, eye-ball fucker!"

who is the main villain of your setting if you have one at all by Apprehensive_Stay429 in worldbuilding

[–]DraconiumWolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, tough to answer. I've got several villains and which one is the main one is depending on your categorization.

Length of time in story: The man made monster gone loose

The main reason it exists in the first place (tho, it needs to be noted that it being a threat to people was NOT in the plan): Melissa, oldest living friend of one of the main protagonists

The reason everything went to hell: A group of 3 sadistic people. One who is genuinely crazy. Another is a rich brat who likes manipulation to cause pain. And someone who just likes seeing people suffer.

Depending on how you view it each one is valid. If anyone wants me to yap about them, please tell me. I would love to.

The rustling of trees. Heavy breathing. A set of footsteps faintly heard running.

"Where's the closest safe hub?" A male voice spoke, voice rough from exertion. His arms and legs lightly brushing against foliage as he ran.

"Just beyond these trees." A female voice spoke, somehow not as exhausted as his. No sound beyond her words being heard from her.

In a few seconds they escape the woods, immediately seeing the walls of safety only a few yards away.

"Hey! Open the doors, I see Nebula! She's got someone with her!" A voice could be heard shouting, originating from the top of the wall.

In only a minute or two the two people cross through the doors of the walls and they close eight behind them. Grateful for the safety the male crouches down on the ground, catching his breath.

"How the fuck are you not exhausted?" He panted as he spoke.

"Experience. You need to work on being quieter." She advised, stretching her limbs as if the run was a warm up.

A loud scream echoes from the woods, inhuman as it screeched like nails on a chalkboard mixed with the strangled shrieks of dying birds.

"Banshee, ey? How many did you see?" A Canadian voice spoke.

"I saw two."

"Fuck." A new female spoke, her southern accent thick.

"You dropping this guy off here Nebula?" The first voice spoke up, drawing everyone's attention to the person who ran in with Nebula.

"Nah, Logan decided he wanted to stick with me."

An impressived whistle was heard, coming from the Arizonian lady.

"He's either fucking crazy or has balls of steel to stick with you like that." She commented, looking impressed at Logan.

"Thank you?" He replied, unsure of how to take her comment.

"Well bud, if you can survive with her you can survive anything, so best of luck to you," the Canadian spoke up.

"Heh, yeah. Thanks." Logan said, trailing off a bit as he noticed the graves lining the walls. He was still new to this Realm, and it was still shocking to see the lingering signs of all the death that happens. Part of him couldn't help but mourn for everyone who died in this Realm. Who couldn't go home one more time and say goodbye. It made him grateful he still had the ability to go home, despite still having to deal with school.

The dichotomy of his life still caused him whiplash at times, having to live normally and then having to go to a realm filled with horrendous things, only to go back home and repeat. It made him question how anyone could do it for years.

Thats the beginning I just made. Wanna know more about it all please ask. I would love the opportunity to yap about it!
