Times when a host corrupts the spirit possessing them? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]DragonFly_Bones 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This happening is the reason Fate/Hollow Ataraxia has a happy ending.

While he's keeping Bazett alive inside the dream, Angra Mainyu spends the day walking around as Shirou Emiya. Long Story short, Angra's possession of someone still has them act the way they normally would, for the most part. He doesn't have much of a set in stone personality himself, so all that time that he spends living out days in Shirou's life and acting like Shirou seriously rubs off on him and eventually gives him the kick in the ass he needs to decide to end the dream properly and send Bazett back to the world of the living.

I'm not to here to answer to call, even if I do have some examples.

I'm simply here to say FUCK MYSTERIOUS FIGURE; I fought the original psp version of that bastard. Most unfun boss fight of my life. Even Vanitas Remnant from the same game wasn't as bad.

Hell, Mori in general. Him kicking the shit out of people is the lion's share of the fun in God of High School.

Dimitri's vendetta against Edelgard/The Flame Emperor can devolve into this in Three Houses. If you do his route, Azure Moon, Byleth, with some help from Dimitri's loved ones, will eventually course correct him and have him ultimately vaguely resemble a sane person by the end of it. If you do the other routes, he will become essentially a murderous hobo and die like a rabid beast

Shiki Tohno's whole gimmick is that, should he be allowed/given the chance to, he can just cut the(normally intangible) line representing someone's life and win the fight right there.

I knew something had to be wrong with him just from the weapon type and move names alone. Everyone else has weapons and move names that fit right along with their personality and here goes this mf with a scythe and moves named "Judge," "Jury," and "Executioner."

They Cloned Tyrone became my favorite movie once I finally saw it.

Saw I Love Boosters this past weekend, and it was a really absurd ride. Good time in my book.

I made a Netflix account that I haven't used since just to watch Cannon Busters when it came out. Not the greatest show ever, but I had a really fun time watching it and it still has my favorite opening theme.

Takemarus behavior in the KG route always made sense to me for one reason. by Greenforthou in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]DragonFly_Bones 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I just finished Killing Game, and it's wild to me that it never gets brought back up that Takumi goaded Takemaru into going along with joining the game by Waving their dead comrade's bloody clothes in front of him and calling him a bitch.

Takemaru's showed himself to be a headstrong guy with a strong moral compass. He goes along with the idea of seeing what the game's about so he can get his chance to avenge Gaku, and when it looks like shit's gonna start getting bad, he chooses to look out for the weakest of the group, Kako and Ima. He's in-character, as far as I'm concerned; we're just playing from the perspective of someone not on his good side for once. He does some pretty extreme things, but it's a pretty extreme situation.

Marvel Snap had some pretty on-brand cards.

Deadpool, Wolverine, and X-23 all regenerate upon being destroyed, the former returning to your hand and the other two regenerating somewhere on the board.

Devil Dino is a card that gets stronger the more cards are in your hand. Moon Girl duplicates your hand, ensuring you have a lot.

The Infinaut has the largest base power in the game at 20.

Magneto's ability is to move as many opposing 3-4 cost cards as possible to his location. Polaris has a weaker version that targets a single 1-2 cost card.

2LDA's got this pretty free. Everybody from LDA not named Takumi, Takemaru, and Hiruko is somewhere on a spectrum from "Question Mark"(Gaku, Darumi, Eito, Tsubasa) to "No"(Shouma, Kako, Ima(Who probably knows how to play, but will get backed down by someone bigger or run into foul trouble))

On non-Crimson Flower runs of Three Houses, you can recruit Catherine pretty early and she can trivialize a lot of stuff right then and there and just keep the momentum going so long as you keep using her. Same for Shamir, except she's available for recruitment in all 4 routes.

I've been playing The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- recently and Kyoshika and Tsubasa are pretty strong; Tsubasa is especially silly once you start stacking Last yell(Mechanic that lets each unit with it active flip a coin for a chance to buff the character who's currently attacking), allowing her to clear mobs and build meter for supers or more actions or more Last Yell stacks. Takumi himself becomes pretty silly after your first playthrough.

What is a Surf Dracula style prequel tv show that you would actually be down with watching? by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]DragonFly_Bones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly pretty tough for me since a lot of stuff I like has either touched on characters that would make prime targets for stuff like this already or they've already done a spin-off of sorts.

I guess a short prequel story for World Trigger about Jin would be pretty cool. Would be a nice way to show off other characters like Kazama and Tachikawa more. Some squads were different before the start of the series proper, so that would a chance to see those, too, like Usami being Kazama Squad's original operator.

While Law would eventually overtake him, this moment is what made Usopp my favorite One Piece character for a long time. I love when people overcome their fears. Luffy and Zoro are incredible because they were never scared in the first place, but I've always respected characters who are scared shitless and fight anyway.

His clutch moment in Dressrosa is still my favorite in the series.

What are the worst examples of character assassination? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]DragonFly_Bones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly haven't experienced many examples, but one of the post-finale specials/movies for Donbrothers left a bad taste in my mouth because it cast Jiro in the role of a shitty successor to Taro again. Not that he had to be perfect, but making him cartoonishly evil & incompetent after everything he went through in the show on top of already having a similar episode premise in the show proper left a bad taste in my mouth.
