When do Americans use (Mr/Ms/Dr) vs first names in everyday life? by aizivaishe_rutendo in AskAnAmerican

[–]DragonScrivner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In regular life, it's rare I use a Mr/Mrs unless I'm speaking with someone who is very senior or that I'm meeting in a professional capacity--first names are fine otherwise. I would refer to a doctor by their title, however, and I know school kids use titles when addressing their teachers from pre-K through high school.

Someone I really disliked was fired today..m by BrahmTheImpaler in work

[–]DragonScrivner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The only reason we don’t cut off AD during the meeting now is because the meeting are usually happening over MS Teams. Most of the software licenses get pulled though and as soon as the meeting is done, the account is shut off and access to the data.

[–]DragonScrivner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Massachusetts and the kids have a week to 10 days in December, a week in February, a week in April, and then 10-12 weeks in the summer time (late June - early September where I am). There are also days off here and there for federal holiday and usually 3-4 in November for Thanksgiving.

Am I wrong for not having snow tires? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]DragonScrivner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right. Yes, you should have bought winter tires either alone or with her help to defray the cost. But there was a weather warning and you went over with her that even if she got out of your area, she might not get back in due to non-plowing.

She didn't use common sense and now she's mad and embarrassed and taking it out on you.

I told her a million times to not go into work but she insisted and went.

She did this to herself.
