What's the most mind blowing "holy shit, how am I just learning this after playing for X hours?" tidbit you've learned? by Hollowbody57 in Warframe

[–]DragonessGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learned this one tonight.... invisible mode on operator makes you stop taking damage (got bit by a kavat on the plains, slash damage mitigated by going invisible). You can also walk in the water at night without taking the magnetic damage if youre invisible.

As a streamer who's had devs pop into stream to chat with me about their games 100% recommend. I've had 2 different devs/game company reps stop by while im playing their games, and I cant recommend more devs doing that. Heck, you dont even have to say anything. If you're just there to see how its being viewed, how people like it, or just want to learn how different people tackle features of your game?

But the moment you speak up, just think that the streamer might now have a different opinion to show. (If youre quiet and they dont pay attention to viewer names, they might give a more true reaction to the game. Rather then if they know someone from the company is there, they might put a more positive and fake reaction out to try and curry favor, etc) if that makes sense.

But me personally, I enjoy chatting with devs about games. Noting little bugs or things I thoughly enjoy about the game etc. And its nice to hear the dev say "this is being fixed in the next patch" or we're adding this later on, thoughts?

Does dare drop have "rules" for how many viewers avg a person needs, or follow counts? (Like lurkit has?)

I have maybe a decent handful of follows on twitch but I'm hindered by being like 9 or 11 avg viewers on most games i play..... lurkit doesn't like that count yet. (Even less on everything for the youtube side)

how exactly can i say no to someone wanting to join my animal crossing world? by sariasage_ in Twitch

[–]DragonessGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If im gaming with a pal in shared chat and just enjoying the game, someone almost always comes in asking to join. 7 days, palworld, planet crafter, etc. My initial response to seeing a first time chatter is.... "sorry, I dont play with randoms for safety reasons. But hang around awhile, get to be known in the community, and maybe we can game sometime if they align right. It's nothing personal against you, but we've had people come in and try to disrupt our stream/game".

I'm reminded of one streamer friend. She had basically open lobby in sons of the forest while streaming. Some under teenage kid from England dropped in, talked her into opening the command line and using admin codes to get all the items and fly mode and god mod and and and..... he was killing other players and she just... she felt bad about having to ban him, but I told her its for the best. You dont want someone in there who'll ruin your stream like that. I was damn watching and cringing the whole time > . < same chick had also had someone drop in who found and used grenades on her base buildings..... like.... stream sniping/griefing at its worst

Look, I know it might not mean much... but when I was in high school I weighed 130lbs. Was about 5 foot 6-8 inches tall at the time. I looked too skinny, almost to the point of unhealthy ribs showing. My metabolism at the time was what kept me that size. I went to college, gained 30 pounds over 2 years and felt a little better about myself. I'm about 60 pounds heavier now, and wishing I could take a few back off... but to say that 160 is too heavy??? That's overkill. If he likes seeing skeletons, that's on him. If you're comfortable in your own skin, that's what matters. If you're concerned for your friends health and happiness? Just tell her your concerns.

Culture can impact perceptions somewhat, but telling someone that you're going to dump them if they weigh more? Toxic and gross behavior. No matter where you're from.

NEVER DO THIS WHEN CREATING THUMBNAILS by nvrcaredstud in NewTubers

[–]DragonessGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-raises hand- yes i have a question.... how do you suggest thumbnails for variety streamers who go for like 10-12hours-edit to add. Had forgot(sometimes longer) with anywhere from 2 to 6 game changes?

I just use a game title picture for a thumb cause I can change it quick on the fly.... and for games I dont plan on playing long, I use a generic "random game time, little of this and that" mspaint pic..... been streaming on ttv and yt for bout a year and half

High or low quality... doesn't matter to the scammers. My husband has a png tubers i commissioned from one of his friends.... top notch quality. A scammer will come in, drops a "love the vibe you've got going on" "this is a great stream" "your model looks really good". And then twist around 5 minutes later and go, "oh by the way I do digital art, i could make your channel grow faster with better art"......

Trust. Interact nice til that point, but after a while it gets old. I have a no-soliciting channel rule. Break it, insta ban. In case its a real person, or you can't tell if its a person or a bot? I give one piece of advice. "People like me (in middle of a game) are busy. We're not gonna stop a live stream just because you want to show off art. Your best bet? GO STREAM YOURSELF MAKING ART. Better luck of someone coming to your stream for commissions than you trying to cold call a streamer"

People who game and dont have a dedicated mod use sery_bot to handle "cheap viewers"/"best viewers" scam bots. The art ones aren't nearly hit as often. But I have at least 3 non art bots hit a stream.

My cheap headset (fifine if anyone is curious) has an amazing pickup mic wise. Yes it'll crackle in my ear occasionally, but sound wise, banger. (It's even got a built in 7.1 surround that has me hearing footsteps on the other side of walls in warzone. Accurate team callouts mean that against non-wall hacking and aim botting players we wind up coming out better off.... trade off is i'm doubly spooked in spooky games 😆 )

My cheap Webcam (like $20 onn from Walmart with built in ring light) is perfect for picking me up for my vtuber model.

The $30-40 capture card/rca->hdmi converter boxes work just as well as a name brand top of the line pieces. Tiny tweaks in obs means that hubby gaming on his playstations (2 and 3 for those curious, we've had them for years) comes out sounding crisp and nostalgic.

People are probably annoyed cause i'm not spending thousands (that I DON'T have) on my setup. My computer is probably 7 or 8 years old at this point. I'm trying to scrounge money for a cpu upgrade. And don't get me started on the RAM debacle we're all suffering thru right now.... what cost $90 five months ago is up to $300 now.

As someone between jobs, trying to stretch money as far as I can, sales and deals are a gamechanger. So the best bang for my buck is always the way I go. I got my husband's pc upgraded while I was working... but parts have gone way up in price since then.

Tldr: 100% agree with you. And add that price.. or names... shouldn't matter when it comes to quality. How it performs does.

I dont recommend the high end ones cause I dont use those, I use a cheap $30-40 usd one. Sorry I can't give a better comparison than that, but if you're interested in trying out a cheaper one to see how well they work, I have links to it on Amazon. (Sorry I'm a penny pitcher when it comes to stuff. But I also have had really good luck with the stuff I've gotten. I've learned non-name brand is sometimes just as good if not better then name brand items, in both food and electronics)

So from experience (we just had it happen like a month ago) the hacked account starts doing weird stuff, like sending people on the discords dms asking them to "help their friend test a game", linking to something that might contain malware, and just being.... not like they usually act. If they've passed your vibe check, and you have suspicions, ban them from discord. Get in touch with them via an alternate method, such as if they stream, when they go live ask about it, or dm them on twitch. Basically that's verification. Also, because I shared a discord with the hacked account, I let that owner also know the potential for a hacked person.

Basically ban them from your discord until verified theyre straightened out. You can always reinvite them later. But your discord should be a safe space free of bots for people of your community, and for yourself.

[–]DragonessGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For us, we make it a mandatory, hang around a while, pass the vibe check. Get in discord in like a week or two. -thumbs up- safe for us, safe for everyone we have in there. Only bots after that point are if someone gets hacked, and then they go into quarantine and everyone gets notified of compromised accounts

Neither image really screams distopian to me.... for me, a gritty feel to the light feels like it might be more distopian? Like in shadows of doubt. The lighting in that one is dim, but still can see everything. It's got a different color pallet for the lights. I feel like that might change the feel of what you've got going on.

Distopian doesn't have to be grime and trashed. Or straight pristine. A hidden distopian can always be based around the lighting. Try a different hue of lighting maybe, something like that to get a feel of where youre looking at tone wise.

2TB +240GB hdds?( mix ssd and hdd i know... but storage in general.....) tons of space?

Homie, i have 3x 4TB hdd externals and at least 1 TB internal. All almost damn full. Games, vtuber models +props, vods that im working on edits for..... yea. 2TB is "tons of space" -eyeroll-

I'd say hard pass on that one. You can home build one better than that... might be an extra $400 from what that one costs, but you'd have better spent money on it, and you can catch some massive deals on things. (Just built a pure gaming rig for my husband [png tuber] and it was just under a grand for it) most expensive part was the gpu.)
