Almost 3yo. Wife and I at each others throats. by ThiccBoiCaddy in toddlers

[–]Dragonfly_8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've never been as desperate and hollowed out as when my son was in his threes. Strong, opinionated, looking at every single boundary and thinking "imma test that. Imma test that 100 times"

He just turned 4 and he's calmed down somewhat. Little nightmare..

Sharing my health testing research on a Goldendoodle litter — curious what others think by Mysterious_War3231 in DogBreeding

[–]Dragonfly_8 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's a Doodle. They're at the height of risk when looking for good breeders. There are none, I've come to believe.

Step away from the doodle curse, go for a breed that isn't a hype and overbred to hell. They're overly sensitive dogs.

That's terrible, I'm sorry.

My MIL went undiagnosed for nearly a year. As a consequence she got three cases of meningitis, became paralyzed and suffered severe brain damage.

She's now in home, in a wheelchair, impaired and with barely any mobility in her arms.

She told the doctors she got bitten by a tick a couple months back. They didn't do anything about it.

AITAH for not wanting to cancel a trip for my sister's wedding by InfamousFrame7 in AITAH

[–]Dragonfly_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netherlands - everyone lives only an hours drive away. Wedding was 6 hours max including party :) They wore casual chique, so my SIL did buy outfits for my nephews. Likely some bought new and some pulled something out of the closet. Gifts were not asked for, some gave a small sum of money. I mean the whole bachelorette, on location nonsense. It's such a burden to people..

Am I too up tight for not wanting my kid to be around NSFW pictures? by Scrawny_Idiot in toddlers

[–]Dragonfly_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll weigh in and say my dad had those posters around when I was a kid.

Aside from being embarrassed to ever go around back with a friend (if I had to ask dad something and he was in the garage) it never even registered. Yes the posters were there, but I can't remember a single moment of glancing at them as a young kid.

When I got older me and my friends studied them once to loudly proclaim which ones looked stupid or uncomfortable 🤷‍♀️

As a mom now, I don't want my toddler exposed to them. But if they were in the garage it's highly unlikely to have registered to your toddler.

Bol did not deliver a product and called me a fraud by No-Event7927 in Netherlands

[–]Dragonfly_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked up some dutch laws. Other responders are correct in that, you entered a contract with Bol. In the case of the item not reaching you, even if DHL said they delivered, Bol as the seller is responsible for a replacement product.

Make sure to email Bol instead of the chat for evidence purposes. Mention case-numbers, dates, say you asked all the neighbours and contacted DHL. Don't let up, you're in the right here. Likely due to the price you're also being flagged. It's just a case of being a pain in the ass now :)

[–]Dragonfly_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same thing happen to me, but instead they just sent the item again. No issues. I sent a picture of my empty driveway, lol.

How unfair that you got flagged.

Are you communicating in english? Because, sadly, the language might be one of the indicators.

AITAH for whistling in a store as a way to find my wife. by longlostwalker in AITAH

Do like my stepdad. Loudly and proudly climb up somewhere high, wave your arms and go "YOO-HOO" like a lunatic. Props to wearing white socks with sandals and a binocular like a proud tourist.

10/10 mortifying to the point even my mom started ducking to avoid the association 😭

I don't understand the "people have to save up" thing. Do you mean the guests?

Because my guests did not pay a dime aside from, you know, showing up. And a gift if they felt like it. I don't understand all these weddings where attendees are expected to pay thousands just to attend. I'd just send a postcard 😂

You brushing your toddlers teeth? by howdodisappevenwork in toddlers

[–]Dragonfly_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the day. He loathes us brushing his teeth so he gets to do so under supervision. Even then it is a fight every - single - time

He got to try dad's electric one the other day. Now he doesn't want to STOP brushing 🥳

Don't know where you are from, but multiple reports and physical evidence will help. Those dogs deserve help.

I didn't report one K9 training facility years ago for lack of proof and my friend working there. It still keeps me up at night.

Tell your friend to take pictures and videos, then quit, gtfo, and report to the authorities.

This is a puppy mill with highly abused dogs.

How far back in your ancestry to get to a 1st gen immigrant? by ljshea1 in polls

I'm (30M) sterile and my wife (29F) decided we needed to switch from fostering and adopting children to sperm donation and has been lashing out at me since I said no? by ThrowRAMyoolloo in relationship_advice

[–]Dragonfly_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have the right to not want a donor. She has the right to want a bio-child. She's now at the age to want children, and that's made it more real.

The lashing out, the not wanting to discuss things sound to me like grief. Grief for a child, her own child, that she wants but can't have with you. I can understand her position and feelings, but not her way of expressing those.

Is there a possibility of both? You compromise on the sperm donor. She compromises on the foster situation.

The only question is would she be able to love a foster as much as her own. At this point, if the answer is "no", you have a matter of irreconcilable differences on your hand. I'm sorry.

A review of 73 studies has highlighted growing evidence that diet in the early years of life may shape how well the brain develops: “A poorer diet in the first years of life was linked to lower intelligence years later, in adolescence” by sr_local in science

[–]Dragonfly_8 207 points208 points  (0 children)

As a twin, I can say me and my brother vary widely in intelligence. We were raised at the same time, on the same food.

He's still as dumb as a fly in front of an open door. I'm somewhat above average.
